About this condo rental
Nestled in Centro, this lovely condo for $145 per night is a great option for your next trip. Perfect alternative to expensive hotel room without giving up luxury or location! In a completely brand new building inside, but with original facade outside on popular Huertas street, extremely close to Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia Museums and the Palacio Real, in historic center of Madrid, the famous Barrio de las Letras. The apartment has a king size bed, plus additional sofa bed in the living room. Lots of light and smack dab in the middle of all the happening places. The apartment is right next to Plaza de Santa Ana. Near Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor. You can walk to La Cava Baja, a street full of restaurants and little bars. Also, the Mercado de San Miguel. Great meeting place and good tapas. *If your stay is at least 10 days, we have a complimentary cleaning that you can schedule at check in. This includes change of towels and sheets. No charge! *All of our sheets and towels are professionally dry cleaned.

We absolutely loved this apartment. The location couldn't be better, walkable to everywhere we wanted to go and on a lively street with lots of great bars and restaurants. The apartment was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well decorated - the glass enclosed terrace was a lovely spot for coffee or a vermut. We were there during a very hot period and were extremely grateful for the powerful AC. We thought it might be a little noisy and brought ear plugs, but we didn't need them, the windows blocked street noise even on a Saturday night. Gorete was a particularly charming host who had lots of great suggestions for local restaurants etc. Will definitely return.

Exceeded expectations for us two. Well thought-out lodging in an outstanding location: walking distance to Atocha train station, to the Royal Palace of Madrid, to the Prado Museum (and other top museums), to the Gran Via, etc. The manager, Gorete, provided much information in advance to help with our planning. We would not have known about the excellent Sorolla thru Light exhibition without her. The lodging was very clean with comfortable bedding and plush towels. We were able to dine on the small glass-enclosed balcony even during a thunderstorm. The room design and bed positioning meant that street noise was not a problem for our sleep. If we visit Madrid again, this apartment would be our top choice.

Tha apartment has everything you need for your visit.
Living area/kitchen (including washer/drier) is well laid out and very good.
Bed was very comfortable. All towels and linen are provided as well as toiletries, tea towels, washing liquid,tea coffee etc.
Host is very good. Everything was smooth from checking in to checking out.
Lots of options to arrive from and depart to the airport.

The apartment is as nice in person as the pictures. Very clean and I appreciated being met at the door when I arrived. The location was in the center of everything- I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go. I traveled by myself and felt very safe. I will stay here again when I return.

Very central location to many Madrid attractions. Apartment itself was quite nice, bread at one floor up the street noise and cigarette smoke at night was intolerable.

This is a beautiful new apartment in the heart of old Madrid. It was very comfortable for my wife any I, with delicious restaurants in every direction. The nearby nightlife can be a bit loud, so earplugs were helpful for me, but my wife had no issues.
Communication with Gorete was efficient, and the check-in process was in person and extremely thorough.

We loved our stay here. Yes, it is rather small but it is brilliantly designed. We had a comfortable king bed with nice linens, room to unpack in the closets (with built-ins), and the kitchen/living area was plenty big enough. The location was fabulous - walking distance to everything yet it felt like we were in a small, our of the way town. We did have quite a bit of noise at night on the streets and earplugs made all the difference. Gorete has thought of everything and it was nice to have things like, salt, pepper, coffee, olive oil and Tupperware in the kitchen. There were a few things that were not functioning well and if they take care of them, it really is a jewel of an apartment.

A fantastic location with modern updates
We greatly enjoyed our stay at Gorete’s apartment. She provided so much helpful information and the location was amazing! The bed was extremely comfortable, the apartment was spotless and the small enclosed bistro table provided a fun look at the city’s happenings. I agree with another reviewer, if you are a light sleeper be prepared for the fact that Madrid seems to be a city that never sleeps. (It probably didn’t help that we were staying on a holiday weekend.) Even with this minor issue. if we are ever back in Madrid this would be our #1 choice!

Perfect location!
We loved staying at Gorete‘s apartment! It’s in a perfect location, in Central Madrid. We love all the restaurants, being close to the museums, and being able to walk everywhere. The apartment has everything you need and is very comfortable. Thank you Gorete for your hospitality!

A week in Madrid
This location and property were great. And it was so nice to have tea, coffee and even a cake for our early morning arrival. The location was close to metro, theaters, restaurants. The apartment was as described and well-stocked with the essentials and all the amenities. Would stay there again.

The location of this apartment is amazing. Very close to public transportation and within walking distance of all major sites. The place was very clean and the property manager was always helpful and answered quickly. Beautiful apartment and was perfectly stocked. Enjoyed our stay here very much.

Delightful apartment near Puerta del Sol
This is a cozy and modern apartment right in the heart of Madrid within easy walking distance of the Palacio Real and el Prado. We enjoyed the neighborhood — it has plenty of interesting bars and restaurants (la Venencia in particular was a great place for a drink). It's a lively and vibrant place, and there's plenty going on well into the night. There is some street noise but not too much — we slept with the door to the balcony open some nights and slept just fine. Gorete and Alicia were incredibly accommodating and helpful, assisting us with managing both an early arrival and a very early departure. We'd love to return to Madrid and would absolutely stay here again.

Great location and beautiful apartment
This is a beautiful apartment that is located close to many restaurants, markets, and sites. The apartment is very clean and has many amenities to make your stay more comfortable. It is very thoughtfully arranged to accommodate a couple perfectly. Our only comment would be related to noise from other guests in the building, the weekend revelers on the street below, and occasionally the pipes. At times we were awakened briefly but we would absolutely stay again. The location and the loveliness of the apartment more than compensate. Thank you!

Great little apartment in a great location
We loved our stay in this apartment. It was very clean, well set out and exactly as the pictures provided, very comfortable, with everything that you need. Lovely comfortable bed and great bathroom and kitchen amenities, with a nice eating and sitting space. Location is perfect for wandering the area and the apartment security is very safe, plenty of restaurants in the area. Gorete sends you very comprehensive information and maps of the area with everything you would need. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to everyone.

Great location, layout, decor
The apartment was easy to find. Check-in and communication was easy. Apartment has a wonderful feel with a small balcony that overlooks the street. Plenty of activity all around with many restaurants, sites and people watching. It did get loud one night but once we figured out lowering the window gate, it was fine. Everyone we crossed paths with in the apartment building was friendly. Would definitely recommend and return to on a future trip to Madrid.

Location, location!!
We can’t praise this apartment enough. First the location is perfect, You can easily walk to restaurants, cafes, museums and shopping of all kinds. Plus if you want to venture further there is easy access to the metro.
The apartment itself is lovely and clean a perfect space for a couple. Notes are left of a lot of information that makes your stay more comfortable. We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and if we come to Madrid again this would be our choice of accommodation.

We loved staying here! Gorete was so friendly and helpful. And the location is perfect on a quiet street close to the center of town. The only drawback was that the apartment is so nicely furnished and comfortable that we found ourselves hanging out there a little more than expected instead of exploring Madrid a bit more. No regrets though. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

The perfect spot in Madrid!
We did enjoy our stay in Madrid very much! The apartment is lovely. Very comfortable and spotless! Gorete thought of everything to make you feel at home. There even was a bottle of white wine in the fridge to welcome us as wel as some fruit and chocelate cake! The location of the apartment is perfect! At walking distance to the Prado, Reina Sofia and the Thyssen museum. Nice restaurants nearby, etc.

Fantastic flat in the heart of Madrid
Gorete’s apartment in the heart of Madrid was everything we hoped for and more! The apartment is even more beautiful than the pictures. It is located on a busy street lined with cafes, bars, and shops (but quiet at night with the doors closed) and is within walking distance of Puerto del Sol and many other major attractions. Upon arrival, Alicia met us as planned and even allowed us to check in early. The delicious bottle of Rioja wine and treats were unexpected and appreciated. Definitely choose this apartment for your next trip to Madrid!

Superbly managed and maintained!
This apartment was superbly located, very comfortable, attractive and equipped with every amenity we could want for our one-week stay. We had spent the previous week hiking in the Alpujarras, so we especially appreciated having a washer/dryer and a comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was well laid out with good water pressure, drainage and hot water supply. While we didn't cook (too many restaurants & cafes nearby), the kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated having a good size fridge to store drinks.
A key issue when you rent through VRBO is whether or not the owner will be reliable in terms of informing you of important details in advance and showing up at the agreed upon time to let you in. Gorete was superb in this regard! She sent a 9-page document with FAQs as soon as we booked and everything unfolded exactly as we expected. Alicia was waiting to meet us and explained everything we needed to know (she also gave us a notebook of instructions for use of all appliances in Spanish, English & French).
We knew we were dealing with someone trustworthy as soon as we made our reservation and we are very satisfied customers now that our trip is over. If you are going to Madrid, you can't go wrong by staying at this place!

Lovely aparment in Literary Quarter
We really enjoyed our 6-day stay in Gorete's flat on C/ de Las Huertas in Madrid. The location could not have been better--a comfortable walk east to the Prado and other museums and the green of the Parque de Retiro, and west to the Plaza del Sol, shopping and the Palacio Real. And wonderful restaurants and cafes in-between! For longer adventures, the apartment is around the corner from Metro Anton Martin and only 3 stops from Atocha Train Station-very convenient.
The flat's amenities were top-notch and Gorete provided for every need imaginable! Above all, the unexpected washer-dryer! The thoughtful bottle of wine, extra chargers, iron and ironing board, additional pillows and fleecy throws so appreciated.
Pristine and beautifully designed, the apartment made down-time so comfortable. The sunlit balcony was just right for a glass of wine, writing postcards, organizing our next day's agenda.
Gorete's on-site manager, Alicia, was friendly, responsive, professional--everything one would want.

Perfect Location
We had a wonderful stay in this apartment, which was smack dab in the middle of the best part of the city—walking distance to the great museums, theaters, and the train station. It was spotlessly clean and had a lovely kitchette and everything you need. Our only problem was noise late at night from the apartment over ours—noisy closet doors especially. But we would stay there again.

Home Away from Home
We have stayed in Gorete’s apartments 3 times, and could not be more enthusiastic about the apartment and the location. First, Gorete, is an incredibly warm and personable owner, and Alicia, who meets you when you arrive, is very helpful. She introduces you to how to enter the very secure building and the apartment. The apartments are very comfortable with well-equipped kitchen units, and and a bathroom with nice showers with good water pressure. We feel that this is the best location in Madrid being fairly close to Puerto del Sol, Mercado Anton Marin, Mercado San Miguel, Plaza Mayor, the Prado, Reine Sophia, the Thyssen, El Retiro Park and Atocha station. There is also a very convenient taxi stand one block away at Santa Angel making it easy on the early mornings when we leave for the airport (30 euros). There are so many good restaurants and tapas bars close by. Just to list a few, our favorites are Albertos, Ana La Santa, the Vinotecta, Casa Abuelo (a must if you like garlic shrimp), Cervantes (Plaza Jesus) and Marisquería Perlora, a terrific fish restaurant. In short, this apartment is a perfect place to stay in Madrid, and it now feels like our home away from home.
