Situated in Charleston, this attractive docked boat for $396 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Under new ownership as of May 2017. Located in the Heart of Charleston's Historic District, Southern Comfort is docked at the Charleston City Marina and less than 50 feet from our gated parking lot. We are 3 blocks from the Historic Battery just past the Coast Guard Station, and six "city blocks" from Meeting Street and the Market Area. From the magnificent architectural homes of the Battery, and the finest restaurants in the south, to the art and antique shops, Charleston is a place unlike any other. PLEASE NOTE IT IS EXTREMELY EXPENSE TO MAINTAIN A BOAT SUCH AS THIS. Therefore the boat books for TWO people. There is an additional guest charge per person up to eight people after the first two. This makes the boat approachable for a couple as well as very economical for larger groups to enjoy the boat. Remember what your parents taught you.. if it’s to good to be true. It probably is. By booking the boat in this way it makes it reasonable for all parties involved. We love sharing out boating experience with people and try very hard to upkeep it. It’s a fantastic way to spend time in Charleston and a very unique experience that most people will not find anywhere else. Capt. Dave.

We are not sorry we had this experience on a lively yacht, but we would most likely not rebook. Booked for 6 adults - only had towels for 4. Only 2 coffee mugs available. Overall, the Southern Comfort provided us with a memorable experience we enjoyed.

We loved out stay on the Southern Comfort. Great location close to downtown. Very good restaurant in the marina with a fun dive bar attached. The boat was very nice and spacious. Captain Dave was very responsive to all of my questions. Overall wonderful experience

Our daughter has a really small wedding - seven people total!!! Renting this yacht was perfect for our needs. Easy in and to go places we needed to go. The wedding actually took place on the top deck right before sunset and was lovely. The furniture in the lounge area was very comfortable and there was room for all of us. If you rent this boat remember it is an older boat. The owner is working to repair that are worn or have been abused by other renters but they posed no problems. We loved staying on such a classic boat.

We spent two nights on the yacht at the end of our Savannah/Charleston trip. We enjoyed the unique experience of staying on a yacht and found the Southern Comfort to be a clean, well-organized VRBO. We did not cook much, but the kitchen was larger and better appointed than we had anticipated. Instructions from Matthew were clear and helped us settle in to our brief experience of living on a boat. Our only difficulties were bunks too short for adult men and air conditioning that was difficult to keep at a comfortable temperature. We also found the cost of vehicle parking at the marina to be somewhat high. All in all, a fun end to our trip!

We loved Southern Comfort - the skybridge is a great place to relax, with beautiful views of City Marina. Easy walk to King/Meeting Street bars & restaurants. Very comfortable and safe. We enjoyed it very much. Highly recommend.

For the most part the accommodations were satisfactory. It’s a nice boat with plenty of room. Be prepared though as the property manager/captain is often nearby, which is good or bad depending on your preference. There are lots of rules and the rule book Does have a sarcastic tone. They should probably revise this. It’s quite unprofessional. We also had an issue with the electricity and A/C going out on the bottom half of the boat. We did use the hair dryer so perhaps that was why. The manager/captain responded quickly though to fix the problem. Overall would recommend, but be very sure to read all the details before booking.

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay on the classic Hatteras yacht Southern Comfort.. It was part of my 75th birthday present and was totally enjoyable. Captain Dave was very helpful with acclimating us to the yacht. We will be staying on Southern Comfort again next year as we make our journey from Florida to Cape Cod. Harold

What a fun and unique experience! This yacht is very spacious and has everything you need (the only thing missing was coffee) to make great memories. What a relaxing time sitting on the top deck enjoying the views. We had a great time!

The yacht was perfect for our weekend stay. It was in the marina where we docked our boat. We fished all day and the location was good for us. Yacht was very nice. Had everything we needed. Had plenty of hot water. Captain Dave was great. Would highly recommend.

Not clean. The boat was worn in areas that should have been kept up. The owner Captain Dave had not provided full disclosure of what he was expecting prior to booking. When we arrived we were instructed, by him, to " read the White Book" located on the boat. This book was filled with mean spirited ways to undermine and humiliate guests. AND, we are boaters and know how to act, what to do, when to 'flush', etc. If you are thinking about this boat for a fun get away, as Capt. Dave would say in the White Book, " Don't Even Think About It".

We had an amazing time on Comfort. My only regret is not booking longer. The marina was nice and the stores nearby were easy to get to and friendly. I would recommend to any that appreciate a little different vacation and something above regular rentals.

This was an experience staying on a yacht. Owner, Captain Dave was very responsive and hilarious. The yacht has everything you need, plenty of room and you can’t beat the view of the harbor whether coffee in the morning or wine at night. It is close to downtown but not close enough to walk there. You feel quite fancy staying on a yacht. It was a wonderful, unique experience. A few FYIs though….you cannot bring a large cooler onboard and if you have a larger than carryon suitcase, you can’t take it to your stateroom. It won’t fit down the hallways. Other than that, it was a blast!

What a great way to experience Charleston! Sunrise and sunset on the Ashley River, well-appointed amenities, slip location next to the channel with the boats coming in and out. Captain Dave was able to let us check in a little early so we could meet friends in the city. We'll be back next year.
