Nestled in Avon, this charming house for $354 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the water! This house is solely managed by the owner. Located at Avon's secret South end (on Park Drive), gorgeous MAESTRALE has unrestricted views of Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Pamlico Sound and the Atlantic. Positioned one house away from the Sound on a cul-de-sac, this very quiet SEMI-SOUNDFRONT location is actually closer to the water than some soundfront houses on the Island. It's just a 6 minute walk to the ocean and a 1 minute walk on a sand/boardwalk path to the shallow, warm waters of the Pamlico Sound where you will find a private-access, secluded shallow-water beach on where kids can wade & find hermit crabs. This is a premier destination for wind sports enthusiasts & is an ideal windsurfing/kiteboarding launch area. You can leave your gear on the beach when you go to the house for lunch or refreshments. The ocean is just a quick 6 minute walk down the street & over the dunes on the community maintained boardwalk. Kayak (single) available to guests. The ground level has ample concrete parking, basketball hoop, outside shower, carport, under-house entry, partial boardwalk and lockable storage area (concrete floor) that will accommodate boards and rigged sails. The 1st floor has an inviting 'getaway' sitting room. The first master suite has a full bath. The second bedroom is bunk equipped and the third is twin equipped. The second bath opens to hallway. MAESTRALE'S large second level great room with tall cathedral ceilings has perfect southern exposure, lots of glass, and 'postcard' views of Hatteras Island's quiet side. The well-equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and wide dining area is a hit. A 2nd master suite has a semi-private bath. The spa/hot-tub on the back deck is the perfect place to close every vacation day. Wide south sun decks squeeze every drop of sun to warm winter weary guests. Maestrale was very clean and well-maintained and furnished. We like to cook and eat in so were particularly happy to have the well-equipped kitchen and lots of dishes and silverware. The supermarket (Food Lion) and great seafood shop are a short drive away. There are nice sound views from the house and decks and a view of the ocean from the upper deck. The little private beach on the sound is a lovely place to watch the sunset and the ocean is a quick and easy walk away. Glen was great with communications, provided excellent information before our arrival and always got right back to us in response to any questions. We would definitely recommend Maestrale as a rental and Glen as a host.

We have stayed in Avon many times. Always a treat. This house is at the end of a cul de sac right near the sound and a short walk or drive to the beach. It is not fancy and has a knock out view of the sound and amazing sunsets!
The house itself is clean and well maintained. The host easy to contact and extremely knowledgable of the area.

Great location and quiet far off the main road. Very close to the soynd for great sunsets. Lots of light with many windows. Great views of the national seashore. Highly recommended place and very courteous owner.

Maestrale is tucked into a small neighborhood along the pamlico sound with great access to the outer side of the island as well.
We had 8 people and an infant, and things were feeling a little tight by the end of the week. I’d recommend this property for 6 adults + children as a sweet spot.
The host Glen is super responsive and was very pleasant to work with.

This is a great house with an awesome location. It is excellent for kiteboarding and windsurfing. Glen is very involved in the property management and has invested in the upkeep of Maestrale.

We were very pleased with the house. It was exactly as described in the listing. There was a semi-private beach, sound side. It was easy to store and access all our windsurfing gears from the house. There is also a kayak at our disposal, to explore the area.
The owner has provided everything we could possibly require, for that time of the year. Glen was very responsive and provided us with tips to enjoy the surroundings.
The house is located at the south side of Avon. The environment is calm and mostly surrounded by nature. The see side beach was at a short walking distance, same thing for the Food Lion.
We hope to be Glen’s guests again very soon, we would definitely rent this house again.

The accomodations were terrific and Glen was a very thoughtful, attentive host. Our family had a wonderful time. We enjoyed relaxing, walking to the beach, sightseeing and Glen's restaurant recommendations were spot on. We hope we have an opportunity to stay here again in the future.

This was our first trip to the outer banks and this house was perfect! We were two families with four young boys among us and the house had plenty of room. Each family had their own space but there was also lots of open areas where we could all gather. Proximity to the sound and the beach were great. Glen was very helpful. Highly recommend!

A perfect location both to the ocean and the sound. Lovely views from the decks and windows - sunrises and sunsets, wow! The house is spacious and so comfortable. Very clean. We appreciated the use of the kayak and beach chairs. Checking in and out were easy. Glen was gracious, helpful and easy to contact. Our family had a wonderful time relaxing and playing at OBX. Hope to be back some day!

Glen was a pleasure to communicate with! He sent a very complete run down of all the information we would need on our stay ahead of time and was quick to respond with questions. The house is clean and equipped. We loved the little private beach on the sound. The views from the deck are gorgeous, especially in the morning with coffee. The hot tub was a nice addition as well. I wished the beds were a little more comfortable but I’m picky. Thanks again Glen!

Our family had an amazing trip to Avon over Thanksgiving. The house was amazing, clean, and very spacious with beautiful views. Our boys enjoyed biking in the neighborhood and playing in the yard. It was an easy bike ride to the beach.
We had a great breakfast one day at Oceanas Bistro.
One of the best parts of our vacation was the day trip to Ocracoke. The ferry is free and lots of fun. We had a great lunch at Jason’s restaurant. The beaches are breathtaking and there is lots to see and do. Also, lots of cute shops.

Amazing Property!
We’ve stayed in different rentals over the years in Hatteras and this one has been our favorite so far. The house overlooks uninterrupted natual wilderness and the views are just beautiful! very very peaceful! The beach access path is a short walk from the house (we have little ones so it took about 10-15min). We were lucky enough that one of the neighbors let us walkthrough his property to get sound access, which we loved! My husband kitesurfs and this property is perfect for Kiters; Canadian Hole and Kite Point are a short 5min drive and my husband was xtremely excited that he could take a glance from the decks to get real time view of wind conditions. The owner was super responsive and attentive. The house was clean and well equipped. We’ll be staying here again!

We loved having protected land behind us as it made the view so much more beautiful! This house is really close to a sound Access Point day use area that was perfect for our toddlers! We could put them in the kayak in the calm Waters and there was a beach there as well. We went there every evening and took sunset pictures and it was just amazing! Owner was very responsive to anything I needed. You will give you reviews of local places of things to eat and do and we found that everything he said was pretty spot-on to how we felt as well.

Wonderful OBX House!
We had a wonderful stay at Maestrale! We loved having the sound beach so close by for kayaking and beautiful sunsets. The ocean is just a short walk from the house and the grocery store, Duck Donuts, most restaurants and the community pool are within a bikeable distance. The house has a wonderful set up with a lot of room. Glen is a wonderful host who is very responsive, kind and has lots of recommendations for the area.

Great last minute trip!
A previous renter canceled and we were able to book this place the day before we went! We had never been as far south as Avon, but we loved it. Glen was super communicative and helpful. The house is a great 4 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. We comfortably slept 6 people and could have had more. There are great views of the sound, sunset, and Cape Hatteras Park right behind the house. There are no neighbors to the south so the view and privacy is great. The walk to the Atlantic side takes about 6-7 minutes. We had no problems carrying our things and walking to the beach each day. The beach was perfect - especially during Corona. Every family had their own area on the beach and nobody felt any concern about being too close to other people. The town provided just what we needed - a Food Lion, an Ace Harware, a Duck Donuts, a Dairy Queen, and a few good restaurants to get take out. Highly recommend! Thanks Glen, so glad our last minute find worked out so well!

We really enjoyed our stay at Glen's property. The check-in was super easy. House was clean and perfect for our family needs. We could walk to the sound where we could kitesurf on a small semi-private beach. We would definitely rent again. Thanks so much!
