About this lodge
Located in Minnesota, this attractive lodge for $213 per night is a great choice for your next trip. We have fabulous sunsets, dark night skies, wonderful hiking and biking at Itasca State Park, biking on the Heartland Trail which is just a mile away and of course eating at our local restaurants and shopping our fabulous downtown shops. If you are a golfer make a tee time at Headwaters Country Club which is less than a mile away. Bring your tennis rackets as the courts are brand new as of last summer. Pickle ball courts are at Heartland Park only 2 miles away. Take a break and experience the loons calling over the lake at night and the crisp morning air. Our two kayaks are free for you to use and come with life vests. As in the past there will be thorough cleaning between guests. The rooms will be detail cleaned by me to be sure they are safe for your arrival. If you value your privacy and don't want to be surrounded by other vacation cabins, WildWood is the place for you! We have only the suite to rent so there are no other cabins or vacationers to spoil your get away time. There's so much to do in Northern MN ; hiking in the woods, spending time away together, watching the sunsets, star gazing in the dark, dark skies of the North woods, kayaking, biking, swimming, etc. Make your reservations for the 2024 season now so you are not disappointed that the week or weekend is taken. Book your stay early. This is a 2 room luxury suite on FishHook lake just outside of Park Rapids. (site of the Governor's Fishing Opener of 2013) There is a two night minimum stay for April, ,May and June . A three night minimum for July and August and then back to a two night minimum in September and until closing in late October. Our property has over 2 acres of towering pines and birch trees located right on FishHook Lake. This is the Northwoods experience at it's best and only 2 miles from the town of Park Rapids! The Eagles' Nest suite is on the second story of a private, carriage style garage. This suite was the premiere suite of our former WildWood Lodge B&B and won a decorating award from 'Better Homes & Gardens'. The suite features a king-size bed, double Jacuzzi tub/shower and warm terry robes. In the morning make your coffee and breakfast in the kitchenette and enjoy it at the breakfast bar or on the outdoor deck while watching for the first eagle soaring above. Whether you come to just relax , do some sightseeing or you want to golf at the Headwaters Country Club ( 1/2 mile away), bike the Heartland Trail ( 1 mile away), visit Itasca State Park (22 miles away) , swim, kayak (two are available for guests at no charge), watch for the eagles and listen to the loons ....peace and solitude abound. Guests are welcome to sit by the lake in comfortable adirondack chairs, enjoy the lake up close and personal on the chairs and bench right on the dock, or relax in the hammock overlooking the lake. Business travelers are welcome to enjoy the peace and quiet after a hard day's work. Our suite is priced at $200-250 per night during the summer months plus MN sales tax. We are fully licensed by the State of Minnesota as a vacation rental. This is a NON-SMOKING suite and no pets or children are allowed. Any use of illegal or recreational drugs is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property. The Eagles' Nest is a place to totally discover the peace and quiet of lake living. The luxury suite has a separate room with a kitchenette that includes a refrigerator, stove with oven, microwave, sink, dishes, toaster, pans and utensils. Absolutely beautiful grounds, pristine accommodations, and super friendly hosts. This was absolutely the best place that we’ve stayed. We would definitely think about returning and highly recommend Wildwood and Liz. We had a great time fishing in the extremely clean lake and watching the beautiful sunsets from the lovely dock. Nature also abounds with the eagles , loons, and woodpeckers.

We enjoyed a secluded, and very comfortable long weekend at the Eagle’s Nest this month. Our hosts were amazing, Liz met us with keys as we drove in. She is gracious and so thoughtful, there are so many extra little touches in the cabin to ensure guests comfort.
Park Rapids is about 10 minutes away, it’s a welcoming environment for tourists, and we’d highly recommend Necce’s Italiano. There are many shops in the downtown worth checking out!
Itasca State Park is about 25 min from Park Rapids, and it was really beautiful! We’d recommend this getaway for two, and are planning to visit again. Thanks Liz and Phil!

My wife and I stayed in this charming lakeside loft for a quick weekend getaway for our 14th wedding anniversary. It was relaxing, peaceful, and rejuvenating! The rented space was clean and comfortable, with a nice balcony to sit outside and enjoy the sounds of the forest and lake in comfort. We especially enjoyed having access to the kayaks to explore the lake and the dock to watch the sunset.
Liz and Phil are experts with hospitality and were waiting for us to greet us when we arrived. They anticipated all our needs, from comfortable amenities to supplying all the small things in case you forgot to pack something. The kitchenette was well stocked so that you can cook simple meals in it. While there are certainly many great restaurants in Park Rapids and the surrounding towns, it is nice to have the option to prepare meals in as well. We spent one of our days biking Itasca State Park, and the giant jacuzzi tub made for a perfect way to relax after a 20+ mile bike ride.
We would definitely stay here again, and we plan on making this lakeside retreat our go-to option when we need to get away to lakes country! Thank you Liz and Phil for making our weekend away so special!

Having this wonderful place to stay made our vacation very relaxing. We were surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was quiet and peaceful. The rooms are clean. We had all the necessities. The Eagle's nest is perfection! Right out of my dreams! It is very close to town yet extremely private and quiet. The cabin is so cozy and very well appointed. Liz and Phil made everything so accessible to use. I swam and kayaked every day. The beach is shallow. There is an actual eagle's nest very close to the property which is able to be viewed from the kayak. It was a perfect retreat for a quiet, healing rest. I can't say enough wonderful things about it and about Liz and Phil who were perfect hosts. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Liz and Phil’s place is private, quiet, even serene with a view of the lake. The upper deck was a lovely place to sit, enjoy and relax.
Comfortable bed, very cute decor, nice sized bathroom and adequate kitchen and a very nice sitting area. The rooms are large and inviting. We highly recommend and hope to stay again in a few years!
