About this cottage rental
Situated in Crystal Lake, this lovely cottage for $381 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Located on the South shore of Crystal Lake with 60 feet of sandy beach, this newly remodeled 4 BR/1BA (w/separate room w/double vanity) comes to you with a deck, fireplace, laundry, and wonderful lakefront views from the deck or beach itself. The four bedrooms include 2 x Queen, 1 x Bunk & Twin & 1 x Full are all on the 2nd floor. Plenty of room between the house and beach to relax on the hammock or roast marshmallows in the fire pit (don't have to worry about cars and kids!). Interested in setting up horseshoes or badminton? No worries, plenty of room. A charcoal Weber grill is also available for use. Conveniently located half way between Frankfort & Beulah and minutes from area attractions such as Crystal Mountain, Point Betsie, biking trails and Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. Smoking is prohibited. Beds have pillows, mattress pads & blankets. Pillow cases, sheets & towels are NOT Provided.

My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Crystal Lake Cottage, and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. From the incredible location to the well-appointed house, everything about our stay was simply perfect.
First and foremost, the location of this cottage is unbeatable. Situated right on the lake, we enjoyed direct and easy access to a private beach. The beach itself was a dream, with its pristine sand and crystal-clear, inviting waters. If was especially idea for families with little kids, as the water was not too deep. We spent countless hours swimming and building sand castles, creating memories that will last a lifetime. And let's not forget about the breathtaking sunsets we witnessed from the perfectly located fire pit. It was the idea spot to gather around with loved ones and bask in the beauty of the day's end.
The house itself was spacious and clean. We were impressed by the stocked kitchen, which made it a breeze to prepare and enjoy meals with our family. There was ample seating and plenty of room for everyone to relax. The back porch quickly became our favorite morning coffee spot, offering a tranquil setting to start our day off right.
Jay was incredibly responsive and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Additionally, the detailed document provided with nearby activities was a fantastic resource, allowing us to explore and make the most of our time in the area.

The cottage was wonderful- plenty of room, clean, well stocked, beautifully updated, and close to everything. The lake is gorgeous and the beach area was great for the kids. The host was incredibly responsive and a breeze to work with. Our whole family had a fantastic time!

Great access to Crystal Lake. Close to Frankfort, Benzonia, and Beulah. The house is a bit secluded in the trees, but it is nice for privacy if you want that. The public access next door was busy with swimmers, paddlers, and boaters, but nothing that bothered us. Great rock bass fishing in the evening right around the 10 ft mark.

The lovely cottage was just as described. We had a wonderful week relaxing and recharging. This was our first time visiting Michigan and we have lots of fun memories from our trip. There is so much to do in the area, from the dunes, bike trails, the cute town of Frankfort, and Traverse City not too far.

Overall the house was impressive and perfect for our needs. It was rustic yet updated with all the right touches. There were lots of windows to capture the lakeshore breezes, the kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. A favorite spot was the sunroom looking out on the lake.
Our kids enjoyed the badminton/volleyball court and we all appreciated the easy access to the water. The water may have been cold, but it was a great swimming lake! The house was located to two nearby quaint towns. We loved our stay and hope to come back!

We spent off all weekend with friends on beautiful crystal lake. The property was amazing both in the woods and on the lake very quiet very clean and quaint! We liked that it was right on a five minute drive to Frankfort Where are we enjoy dining in the little town and the beach and the lighthouse.

We stayed at this cottage on Crystal lake after the peak vacation season and found it to be private, really well equipped as far as amenities (beyond what the listing indicated), and basically like borrowing someone’s home at the lake for the weekend...it does not feel like a rental. The beach is sandy with a nice gradual slope out to deeper water so great for kids at play. The deck and landscaping are nice with plenty of shade for spending time out of the sun. The kitchen and dining room are generous and easy for prepping large family meals. Nice appliances. Nice big bathroom with a good layout for allowing people to be using the sinks independently of the shower/toilet so one person isn’t holding everybody else up. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Only critique was that some rooms could have used curtain/shades for more evening privacy. Only caution is that all the bedrooms are upstairs and the stairs are a little steep and the treads a bit narrow for anyone with mobility issues which wasn’t an issue for us. The decorations and games throughout the house made being indoors as nice as being out. Basically a charming, warm place to stay. Would rent again and would recommend.

Had a great time second year in a row . Family had fun , ages 4mo to 81.
The lake access and beach are wonderful . Given this crazy pandemic , we spent a lot of time at the cottage . The kitchen was great for family meals , we cooked often .
The new propane fire pit on the deck was a hit .

The house exceeded our expectations. We want to book it again! It was a perfect marriage of an updated kitchen and bathroom mixed with a charming historic family cottage. I could almost hear the echo of the generations of family playing together within the walls. We loved our stay there.

Cozy cute cottage with nice people
This place was so great. And Jay took very good care of us, checking in and making sure we had everything we needed. I have nothing but good things to say. Crystal Lake is so clean and clear and sitting on the beach watching the sunset was relaxing. The cottage is very close to the Betsie River trail which was paved and great for our stroller. The house was remodeled recently and the owners have great taste. They managed to make it so we had every modern convenience without ruining the cozy charm. We had a lovely time.

Highest marks! Delightful two weeks: beautiful location, lovely roomy cottage, tastefully decorated, spotless when we arrived, well stocked with pots and pans, lots of kitchen gadgets, non-perishable food stuffs (incl. spices), toys and games, etc. Suggestions (no complaints) : a second key would be handy (we often feared locking ourselves out); a clip-on lamp above stove would help; even after two weeks we never could quite figure out the t.v. (but the weather was so beautiful, we couldn't have cared less)!

Summer week surpassed expectations
My family of five had a wonderful time at this cottage! The pictures don't do it justice. Great location between Frankfort and Beulah with so much to do. We boated, fished, kayaked, paddle boarded and more. The zip line was a big hit with the kids. The cottage is nicely appointed and we truly had everything we needed between the kitchen and outdoor grill.

Our second summer here
This was our second summer staying here. The beach is perfect for kids and adults. The house has a well stocked kitchen, but great restaurants are within a 10 minute drive. The house serves as a great base camp from which you can explore miles of trails at Sleepig Bear Dunes, shopping, or just lounging at the beach. We’ll be back in 2020 for our third summer!
