Located in Carlsbad, this charming house for $523 per night is a great option for your next vacation. This open and bright beach bungalow is perfectly located 1 block from Tamarack Surf Beach (part of Carlsbad State Beach) in Carlsbad Village-by-the-Sea. It's an easy walk to get your feet in the sand, improve your surfing skills or to just enjoy the ocean waves. It's also a brief 20 minute walk from the house to enjoy the restaurants, shopping, pubs / bars and nightlife downtown in the village. If you're looking for a really delicious meal walk to the end of our street and you'll find Vigilucci's Seafood & Steakhouse for a scrumptious meal and glass of wine where you can relax and watch the sunset directly across the street. Looking to stay at home and relax on the porch while watching the sunset after a day at the beach or strolling across the boardwalk or walking around the village? The house is fully equipped for all your cooking needs - including a BBQ and outdoor seating in our huge fully fenced back yard. This beach bungalow getaway is setup to be casual and comfortable with sleeping for 7. The master bedroom has a cal-king bed, the second bedroom has a queen bed, and the detached sunroom has a bunk bed (twin on top and full on bottom). There are large Smart TVs in every room and the whole house was WIFI over high-speed internet, there's even a workspace set up in case you have to squeeze in a bit of work. Wake up and walk into the village to experience some of the best beach breakfast spots in town with Naked Cafe, Daily News Cafe, Cafe Elysa, Swami's Cafe, Don's Country Kitchen, Shorehouse and more. Sandy beaches stretch across several miles with the adjacent 'boardwalk' which is perfect for walking alongside the beach. Excellent surfing can be found at Tamarack just down the street from the bungalow with a number of other famous surf spots very nearby. Paddle boarding is also popular at this beach as well as fishing in the adjacent lagoon. The house has an outdoor shower so you can enjoy all the outdoor activities and get an easy rinse off when you're done. We've got tons of beach gear to make it all easy for you to enjoy your stay! This remodeled 1950s bungalow is beautiful inside and out and located on a quiet, safe cul-de-sac street. It's setup with linens, towels, bedding, basic supplies and a well-equipped kitchen for this to be your home away from home. His and Hers beach cruiser bikes as well as bikes for littles, a surf board, boogie board and a skim board are included for your enjoyment. There is plenty of parking with the garage, a long, wide driveway as well as street parking. The garage also has a washing machine and dryer to conveniently keep your clothes washed the way you like them. When the need arises there is also climate control with central air conditioning as well as ceiling fans throughout the house. The detached sunroom also has dedicated heat and AC as well as a ceiling fan. An outdoor gas BBQ can also be enjoyed in the back yard. Very clean, comfortable, close to town, short walk to the beach and boardwalk. Lots of toys and beach supplies available for families. Well cared for front and back yard with covered patio and bar-b-que to enjoy anytime of the day or evening. We met a Navy friend from Colorado who served together 45 years ago and had family visit from Reno and San Diego for some beach time. Would highly recommend and plan another visit to the Getaway Beach Bungalow!

Nice house near beach with everything you need. Plenty of beach toys, bikes including for kids, towels, kitchen supplies, etc. We loved sitting on the front porch and our dog loved the grassy back yard. Also enjoyed walking downtown to restaurants & shops. Our family had a wonderful time!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Carlsbad. The house had everything a beach goer could want or need and with the beach only a short walk away it doesn’t get much better. The kids loved the back bedroom and backyard. We really loved the large master bedroom, with an extremely comfortable bed. I felt like I was at home.

Carlsbad, we would rent it again. There were two issues:
Wi-Fi was not acceptable and was very difficult to log into.
The second bedroom needs a lamp on the night table and the living room could also use a lamp on the end table. Our host was attentive and considerate, thank you. Barbara

The proximity to the beach is great and one detail to keep in mind is that the street actually is a cul-de-sac so for it's location it's very quiet. The house was clean and had everything we needed and the yard was perfect for kids and our dog.

This is a great home in a great location. We loved having the back yard for our dogs. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly and close enough to walk to the beach. Plenty of good places to eat near by and the carlsbad village is very close as well. We were extremely happy with this place. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The house is well stocked and appointed. The kitchen has plenty of cooking essentials. The beds are comfortable. The front porch is lovely for sitting outside with coffee or evening beverages. There are LOTS of toys, chairs, beach shelter, umbrella, beach towels, boogie boards, etc. for the beach and a wagon and 2 carts to carry them to the beach.
The location is great: 2 short blocks to the beach and a 10-15 minute walk to Carlsbad Village.
The hostess was very responsive and answered our questions promptly.
We recommend this property and would like to return someday.

We absolutely loved this cute bungalow stocked with everything we needed for a fun day at the beach, which was only a block away! The location was perfect!
We really enjoyed sitting out on the both the front porch and in the backyard to enjoy our morning coffee and relax.
There is a nearby bike path that we also used for a short ride into town.
It's a great place for a family vacation and we will definitely be back.

Awesome stay - incredible amenities!
We traveled with our 4 kids ages 7, 5, 3, and almost 1.
Overall this property is amazing! Great location, quiet street close to the beach, big front and back yard.
I cannot even begin to list all the extras we were surprised to find when we arrived: pack n play, actual crib that could be assembled, high chairs, changing pad, kiddo step stools, toys, movies, kitchen spices/appliances/accessories, medicine cabinet essentials like aloe, bubble bath for kids, chest rub for kids, awesome shampoo/conditioner, so many extra sheets/pillows/towels, a toddler mattress...the list goes on and on! If you're traveling with kids, this house literally has everything you'd need. What a treat!
The ONLY thing that was a bit of a disappointment was that the listing does not make it clear that the bunk bed room is actually detached from the house. It's not far (just across the back patio), but my kids are young, and were too scared to sleep in a different "house". They were very excited about the bunk beds, so this was a bit of a disappointment. It also required us to rearrange all of our sleeping arrangements putting a couple of the kids in the master with us which we weren't anticipating. Not the end of the world as the master is huge, but a bit of a bummer. If your kids are a bit older than mine (oldest is 7) the bunk room would probably be amazing to keep everyone in their own space.
All in all, it's an awesome place and we loved our stay!

This was a wonderful trip and our second time staying here. Location is perfect. The beach is a short 5 minute walk away. They have all the toys and towels and bikes. You only need to bring your sunscreen!
The beds and sheets were extremely clean and comfortable. We slept so well here!
Unfortunately the fridge in the kitchen went out but they have a fully functioning back-up in the garage so we carried on as planned with our meals! That’s some great planning on their end:)
Also keep in mind that the AC doesn’t keep up with the size of the room on extremely hot days. We were given three fans which helped tremendously and used the beautiful porch or back yard to lounge and cool off.
Speaking of the back yard! What an oasis!! It was a dream for us and our three dogs!
Despite the two hiccups mentioned before, this stay merits 5 stars for sure. Marci and her team were very responsive and accommodating, so that is what matters. We made beautiful memories yet again.

The beach bungalow was perfect for our family of five (three teenagers). Pulling up to the home, it was great to have a nice large driveway. The grass and yard were well taken care of and judging by the overall appearance from the outside, we were in for a treat. We loved having the three bedrooms. The master bedroom is huge! Our daughter used the second bedroom off of the kitchen and the boys took the game room/bedroom and connected our Nintendo Switch that we brought with us to the big screen TV in there. The carpet in the home looked new and is well taken care of. Both bathrooms were remodeled nicely, with great storage and excellent use of space. The kitchen was cute and we loved the gas stove (looked like it was new). The attached garage had this great black/white checkerboard floor and our kids loved using the beach cruisers and body boards at the beach. My wife and I loved having the comfy beach chairs available for use. It took about 5 minutes to walk to the beach and we took many trips down since it was so convenient. This beach bungalow really ticked all of the boxes for us: comfortable, clean, well kept; close to the beach; extra items like bikes, beach toys, body boards (surf boards too but none of us knew how); great communication from our host, Marci; fantastic price. Our only disappointment was that we only rented it for 4 nights and not our entire trip. We hope to stay again on another family vacation to So Cal! Thank you for making our stay perfect, Marci!
