Location, location, location!

Everything at the beach cottages was so perfect, and you really can’t beat the location. The only issue I had was loud neighboring guests one night, but the staff was extremely accommodating and checked in to mitigate the issue. Not on them, but was hard to sleep that night.

Just warning, I visited in the spring, but if you go when it gets warmer, there is NO AC. So just be warned. However, this wasn’t an issue during my visit.

The hotel is priced reasonably, striking a good balance between cost and quality, which is a notable advantage for a property in such a sought-after location. One of the services I particularly appreciated was the laundry service, adding a layer of convenience to my stay, especially for longer vacations or those in need of a quick refresh of their wardrobe. A notable perk of staying at The Beach Cottages was the proximity to a variety of dining options. With numerous eateries within walking distance, I was never short of choices for meals, ranging from casual to fine dining. This diversity in dining options added an extra layer of enjoyment to my stay, allowing me to explore different cuisines without the need for transportation. Another aspect that stood out was their communication. The hotel uses text messages not only for reminders but also to check in on guests periodically throughout their stay. This level of engagement was something I particularly appreciated, as it made me feel well taken care of and provided a personal touch that is often missing in larger establishments.

However, it's worth noting that there was a slight misunderstanding regarding the room amenities. I was under the impression that my room would include a stove, which it did not. While this was a minor disappointment, it’s a reminder to confirm specific room features before arrival.

Great location and clean room.

Amazing location. My balcony didn’t directly overlook the beach but I could hear the waves and see a glimpse of them. Clean and spacious. Had a microwave and cutlery

It’s very loud. Both the room heater and fridge but also noises from neighboring room guests. The furniture and design of the room is a bit dated. Didn’t bother me though

We had a great stay and already booked again!

The location was fabulous, the laundry facilities, staff was so friendly and accomodating, parking lot was key, bed comfortable and enjoyed the balcony view!

Our room (247) was very warm all the time, I don't know if it was the pilot light on the heater or we were above a utility room but it was very warm (uncomfortable at night) even with the heat off.

Nice stay on the beach

Location on the beach was perfect. Easy to get to major attractions of San Diego. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. House keeping was excellent with fresh towels and supplies replenished daily. As a group of 8, this worked fantastic. We have stayed here before and chose to return because of the staff and location on the beach.

The property is very clean and well maintained but is showing its age. The door lock did not function correctly but we did not mention it until check out. I hate paying for parking when I am already paying to stay at a property. That is common to many properties but I hate it.

The proximity to the beach, ocean views with balcony, close to restaurants, grocery stores and attractions. Small little kitchen-toaster, plates, cutlery. BBQ available. Staff friendly.

Nettes Strandhotel in Top Lage

Direkte Strandlage. Apartment mit Küche. Großer Kühlschrank. Coole Bars und guter Supermarkt (Ralph’s) zu Fuß erreichbar. Innerhalb 200m. Cola-Automat nur 1 Dollar pro Dose. Billiger als im Supermarkt.

Immer ein wenig Sand hier und da - der direkten Strandlage geschuldet. Nicht so schlimm. Die Schlafcouch roch sehr muffig.

Lovely, relaxing stay with all the necessities close by.

Location! Besides being right on the beach, there is also a grocery store, CVS & 7-11 close by in case you need anything. My room in the west wing was large with a separate sitting area with a couch & table, a kitchenette area with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and various utensils. Fan in the room (check the closet) helps muffle out the noise from the restaurant on the corner but beware- the music is loud and they play it till 1 am or so. I enjoyed listening to it while I sat on my balcony then enjoyed my coffee out there in the morning while listening to the waves crash on the beach. Ice machine & elevator were great to have. Room was very clean and bed & pillows were very comfortable, not too soft or too hard. Noticed they served coffee out on the patio in the morning if you don't want to make your own in your room. Can't complain about anything😀

Beach time!

The location right on the beach was awesome, the courtyard area is nice and the staff were very helpful. It was also reasonably priced.

Our room was very warm and because of the location there was a privacy/light issue to leave the balcony door wide open to cool it off. We were tucked back in the corner right across from the stairs of the adjacent building where the lights were on all night and people were coming and going and could see right into our room.

Strandferien

Die Lage direkt am Strand und doch so, dass genügend Abstand zur Promenade vorhanden ist, dass einem nicht jeder auf den Teller schaut. Delfine können trotzdem beim Frühstück beobachtet werden. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Wir könnten uns gut vorstellen, in dem Cottage auch eine Woche Urlaub zu verbringen (waren diesmal für zwei Tage auf Durchreise).

Die Betten sind maximal Twinsize, für zwei Erwachsene sehr eng und auch kurz. Dafür sind die Kissen umso wuchtiger.

The stay was so awesome, that we came back very rested. We hope to stay longer next time.

Like the affordable location! Being retired I'm on a budget, and this place afforded me a place I could enjoy, like any other expensive place. Appreciated the, staff checking in on my needs.

The refrigerator did not have a freezer. Traveling in the car we had frozen packs to keep our food cold, on the trip. And by the time we checked out our freezer packs had defrosted, and our leftovers spoiled. Replacing with ice in it would have melted and made a mess. But that was minor.

Excellent fun for the family, beautiful views.

Everything was perfect! The staff go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. Just step outside the gate to a beautiful beach, good drinks and food, and shopping.

There is no air conditioning in the room, but there are fans.

Balcony with partial ocean view, small but appreciated kitchenette, comfortable bed, elevator.

Fairly constant street noise from the bars, cafes, vehicles, and people coming & going. Although it's good that the property is well maintained, our water was off for over three hours one afternoon. I was told that we should have received a text about it the day before. Did not receive it.....we like to leave our devices behind while on vacation.
