Views, size of room, balcony, office desk and staff were great
Coffee machine and small fridge in the room. The could update the duvets and pillows to be thicker as sleep is important to me

Location w\as stunning. Hotel breakfast was delicious with a lot of options and fresh fruit cheese and cooked breakfast was perfect. Dinner at the Hotel Restaurant gave local traditional options and fresh fish. Excellent service and friendly staff. other restaurants close by also provided another option for dinner which was convenient and the food excellent.

Location along the shore of lake Zurich, the outdoor patio dining area under the shade of trees and views of the lake and small harbour.
Our old wooden floors in the hotel were really squeaky, and I felt bad for the guests below us when we woke up early for our early morning departure.
There didn't seem to be a dedicated receptionist.

The crew here are excellent, professional, and genuinely warm — a standard one rarely encounters even among Switzerland's finest five-star houses. This is a family-owned and family-managed property: modern in its efficiency, yet old-school in the grandeur and charm of the Swiss hotelier traditions we grew up with. Frankly, the service is friendlier and, in many respects, more polished than at the Baur au Lac or the Dolder Grand — grand names where you never quite sleep as well, because a certain lax, self-satisfied air tends to get under your skin. Not so at the Schiff.
Think of it as a veritable luxury cruise for guests who prefer to live a discreet private or business life, well away from the hollow innuendo of tired five-star slogans. Here the crew genuinely listens to its passengers. You can unwind completely and dine on cuisine fit for a statesman or stateswoman — all of it delivered in the relaxed, understated manner of a bygone era, when attention to detail was what made your day.
Enjoy your stay at the Schiff: a luxury cruiser we are already tracking, because we fully intend to return.
A side note: this remarkable place was recommended to us by senior members of the diplomatic community in Washington, DC — which is precisely what caught our attention. We had only a brief eighteen-hour stay, yet it felt like a weekend away. I am not exaggerating.
