The 1 acres Guest House will make you feel that is in the country when in fact is located with 6 miles from Downtown Tucson and other distinctly urban amenities. The architectural style of the house is adobe ranch southwest territorial new construction; The main House is an historic property located in the land of the 1920’s Novelist Harold Bell Wright where use to wrote his famous western novels. The House is surrounded by Paths and Gardens that you can use to meditate, re-energize, to walk, to admire the native vegetation, the botanical cactus, the succulents family collection , desert roses, herbs, veggies; to watch the birds, rabbits, quails, and enjoy the mountain views, sunsets and full moon nights. Also, you can immerse in meditation by yourself in our Zen Garden in the main House ( Airbnb name "Scarritt House") . Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this delightful house. The interior is bright, cozy, and beautifully decorated. The manicured cacti garden surrounding the house adds to its charm. Our neighborhood strolls were peppered with brief encounters with wildlife—a bobcat crossing the street and a distant chorus of coyotes under a clear moon.
The location is ideal—quiet, private, and safe. Just a short drive to several grocery stores, and within 30 to 40 minutes, you can explore expansive state and national parks. We, along with our small furry friend (always leashed and in our presence outside), felt completely secure. The host was warm, accommodating, and professional. Overall, a wonderful experience.

La Casa Que Canta is decorated with rustic touches, yet modern. It is located on a beautiful piece of property. We loved the open floor plan. The large windows bring the outdoors in and the landscaping is meticulously cared for. The property is private yet close to shopping, grocery, restaurants, hiking, winery, skiing and the Saguaro National Forest. Maribel was knowledgeable about surrounding areas and her suggestions were perfect for us. You must visit Los Milics Winery! You will not be sorry you booked this property. I loved everything about it and you will too!

The house was just as pictured and we had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. The house is so airy and bright and the grounds were lovely. The location was great and most attractions are just a 20 minute drive. As someone else mentioned, Trader Joes was a mile away which was super convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

This unique and beautiful casita is located on a four acre plot on the east side of the city. It’s a quiet desert feel within the convenience of a city. Designed by a talented, and welcoming host, you’ll enjoy a special place where old world meets modern conveniences. We enjoyed a month here and loved it. A second casita is attached to the main house so we we able to have family join us while having their own private space. Could not recommend it more highly.

This house was amazing and it’s better than the photos. Wonderful kitchen and sleeping arrangements. The mattress were very confortable and high quality, like all the furniture of the house PLUS it is decorated with a refined taste. The host ( Maribel ) is an amazing host. She is friendly and helpful. SO we highly recommand this property.

Beautiful home located in the middle of Tucson, but feels like an oasis. I originally booked for 4 nights, but it was so peaceful and mentally healing, that I added 2 more nights.

Can't say enough of how perfect the Casita is. The level of detail everywhere is breathtaking. It is in a great part of Tucson very accessible to restaurants and at the same time hidden and relaxing. HIGHLY reccomend.

You will find that Maribel's casita is very special place to stay! New construction with an authentic, classy, ecclectic and tasteful vibe. The location cannot be beat. We felt like we were out in the desert but we were just minutes from everything. The housekeeping is fantastic, everything was very clean and well cared for (kudos to Maribel's housekeeper!). Although we did not need anything it was nice to know that Maribel was close-by if we had. We hope to return the next time that we are in Tucson. Thank you for a great stay!!

Mirabel was amazing to work with!! The property was gorgeous!! The only thing I wish I could change was the bed and pillows were way too hard. Also, if you are modest or have to get up and need privacy in the morning you won’t have it. It is all an open concept in the bedroom/bathroom which was beautiful but not practical. But this place was a five star it was top notch amazing!

Nice place...King beds and added non see through curtains would have been nicer, bathroom window also needs a curtain. bath is open to bedrooms so you have trouble relaxing if you get my drift going to use restroom as you feel people in high rise behind can see you, bring your air freshener.

We spent about 10 days at the House That Sings. It was beautiful property and centrally located. Great mid-century homes in the neighborhood too. Maribel was a great source of information for us, as it was our first time in Tucson. So much to do and too little time. We'll be back!

What a Treat: Desert Living
The Casita was everything we expected plus more. It was beautifully decorated, comfortable and had everything we needed. The desert wildlife, birds and vegetation, were plentiful and we learned about species we'd never heard of. If you are looking for a fabulous desert experience, this is the place!
Also, Maribel was a great host and made us feel at home.

A Little Gem in the Desert
We stayed at La Casa Que Canta for 1 week with our two small dogs. The casa was clean and tastefully appointed. The manicured garden was perfect for morning and evening walks with our dogs. The property is conveniently located in a quite neighborhood close to hiking and shops. The extra touches made our stay special, like the welcome bottle of wine and specialty coffee and hot chocolate, essential oil shower gel and hand made soap. The casa has amazing views of the Catalina Mountains and is bright and light. There are lots of big picture windows with translucent or no curtains so may not be optimal for people who are sensitive to privacy. However, it was fine for us. Really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property.

Wonderful modern casita in the desert (in Tucson)
This is our second visit to The House That Sings, and we will be back! Beautiful mix of very modern design and historic Mexican doors and decorations. Located in town, with nearby restaurants and a Trader Joe's. Convenient to Sabino Canyon, Mt. Lemmon and Saguaro National Park among other outdoor attractions. Quail, rabbits, hummingbirds, even a roadrunner right outside our door. Maribel is a great host, always available to answer any questions and provide excellent suggestions for things to do and see in Tucson. Perfect for two couples, with a comfortable living and dining area and open kitchen. Highly recommended!

Singing Praise for Casa queen Canta!
Everything was ideal about the home and the central location on the Westside. The desert landscape gave a rural feel in an urban setting. Fabulous bird and wildlife watching from a designer styled "China Latina" cross cultural combining the best of antiques furnishings with contemporary stylish & functional plumbing in kitchen and bathroom. I loved the locally hand made soap slices that were provided in the showers and the big size bath sheets, too.
My companions who slept in the beds were very complimentary of the mattresses, too.
Looking forward to my next medical visits to Tucson just to stay here again.
My only concerns or draw backs to the property.
It is listed as pet friendly which it is inside, but there is no fenced in area for the pet to be outside, which is just as well because of the hazardous wildlife & cacti.
I asked if the driveway was accessible for my truck and travel trailer. It is good that I have been driving a trailer for 40+ years or I would have never been able to get backed out. There was no turnaround. The owner was accommodating allowing me to unhitch the trailer at the main house which was has more security.
Despite the natural desert beauty surrounds, I would have been surprised compared to the photo images of the property. The house is butted against a fence line that has a very large multilevel apartment complex looming over the otherwise pristine private views. I had used an aerial view mapping system to locate the property before confirming the rental. So, this was not a surprise for us.

A Must Stay
Our stay at La Casa Que Canta was fantastic. La casita was as advertised in the photos and Maribel was very communicative and helpful from the beginning to the end of our 2.5 week stay. Even though we experienced a rare Tucson event – snow, the house was very comfortable. And the view of the snow covered Catalinas from the house was incredible.
Maribel has done fantastic work with the gardens around the house, we greatly enjoyed the peacefulness of the natural landscape. However, the highlight of the trip was the wildlife – although we did not see the Javalina, we were very fortunate to see at the house Coatimundi and a mother bobcat and her kitten. It doesn’t get any better.

Serene Desert Oasis
If you want a quiet vacation place, but still want to be near restaurants, stores, etc., this is a great place for that. The house is set back off the road, and is very nicely decorated. It has all the conveniences of a home (refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, washer, dryer) and has 2 separate bedrooms and a common room in the middle (kitchen/dining/living area). The bedrooms each have a bathroom, but all facilities are open to the room (zero privacy if someone else is in the bedroom with you). Maribel is a very friendly hostess and met us at the house to give us a tour and answer any questions. The only (minor) downside is that the only TV available is a very small 18" screen with only internet (Netflix, Hulu, or Sling). NO network or local TV. We enjoyed being there and liked the peaceful atmosphere.
