Situated in Maggie Valley, this charming house for $130 per night is a great option for your next trip. WE RECENTLY SOLD THIS TO NEW OWNER. If you're looking for a cozy, really nice house at a great price, with mountain views, your own little backyard creek, and easy year round access, you've found it! We’re pet friendly and conveniently located to everything! Brookside Cottage is an adorable creek side, completely updated, 2 bed / 2 bath cottage nestled in its own private corner of one of Maggie Valley’s original mountain neighborhoods! Beautiful floral gardens offer a romantic landscape in spring thru fall seasons. Sip your morning coffee, sitting in the sun room, listening to the creek and looking out at the pastoral, mountain views. Or have a glass of wine, sitting on the swings by the creek and enjoy a crackling fire in the fire pit, while watching the sun set over the mountains. Gated porches and partially fenced backyard make it extra nice for kids or pets*. Our cottage is a perfect little getaway for up to 4 people. It features 2 bedrooms (queen beds), 2 full baths, living room with gas fireplace, WiFi cable internet, Roku TV, outdoor fire pit by the creek, gas grill and washer & dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes many of the basic condiments you need for cooking. Easy year round access with parking that accommodates up to 2 normal size cars*. We are dog friendly provided guests pay the pet fee and agree to the Pet Policy detailed in our Rental Agreement which states… all dogs must be pre-approved, friendly, well behaved, NOT allowed on the furniture, NEVER left alone indoors (unless crate trained) and ALWAYS accompanied on leash while outdoors. We allow up to two dogs and there is a one-time pet fee for each dog. * Trailers, RVs or vehicles larger than a normal size minivan are not allowed. Contact us for questions or more information.

This cabin is lovely, with all the comforts of home. The location has some privacy along with a convenient yard for walking pups, and just up the small hill is the rest of the neighborhood with more walking space and nice neighbors. The gas fireplace made the chilly days/nights even more cozy. One thing to be aware of is that there is no live tv. If you want to watch live, you will need to stream from your phone/tablet and send to the tv. Communication with the owners was fast and positive. We will definitely be back to this one.

Had everything we needed very clean. Loved the swings and brook and the front porch so peaceful. The fenced in yard worked great for our little fur baby! Hope yo go again soon!!

Nice clean home and easy to find. Gary contacted us soon after check in and was very friendly. Little noise from the main highway but not terrible. My wife and I had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The place was very clean and we appreciated having towels, soap, and even dryer sheets and laundry soap. Instructions for check-in/out were clear and very helpful. The place was a little close to the highway where we heard some traffic at busier times. The beds are all full-size and the house is cooled by window units. While the unit in the living room cooled the living area adequately, we were disappointed that only one bedroom had a unit. There was a fan provided which was nice.

This place was so beautiful and quaint. Has everything you need and so inviting. I will not stay anywhere else in Maggie Valley. Owner is very kind gentleman and easy to get a hold of. His neighbors there are great as well. Very peaceful and relaxing

Though we do highly recommend the cabin, a few items should be noted for potential visitors. The cabin is in a neighborhood, with probably 20+ others close by. For example, we had to park in a drive that left room for the neighbors to access their golf cart. The provided pictures leave a sense of moderate isolation, which isn't exactly accurate. The neighborhood is very quiet, and the next door neighbor to the cabin is a wonderfully nice lady, so it isn't as if people are always in your way. Not at all. Just not what we expected. The creek is terrific, very inviting, but the cabin is basically on the second floor, not right outside. Again, not a huge factor, but needs noting. Finally, even though this is a two bed, two bath cabin, I would limit visitors to two adults, and maybe one teen, but certainly not four adults.
Reviews tend to be negative, but I prefer to see this one as simply honest. Would we come back? Yes! Would we have preferred to know some of the details above before arrival? Yes. Great host; responded quickly to a question; check in and out was a breeze. Lots to do in Maggie Valley and easy in and out to surrounding attractions. Make a reservation and enjoy your stay!

Lovely cottage with a "babbling brook" in the back. Front and back terraces well furnished to sit and enjoy the weather. Kitchen very well appointed with everything needed to cook our "gourmet" dinners! Large bedrooms. Everything tastefully decorated!

This little cottage is directly beside a small creek, which provides great view of the mountains. It was very peaceful and relaxing to wake up to view the low-lying clouds over the mountains and enjoying a cup of coffee.

Gary was a pleasure to communicate with. The house was the perfect size for us and another couple. It was clean and decorated nicely. Loved the creek out back. And our fancy coffee in the morning. Thanks for a wonderful little home on the hillside. Can’t wait to come back!

The house was great. The location was ok though the noise from the busy roadway next to the cottage was distracting when outdoors and noticeable even when indoors. But the cottage was cozy, clean, and the perfect size for our family.

Comfortable beds, warm and cozy through a torrential all-day rain storm (gas fireplace was so relaxing), easy to get around in and everything we needed was provided. The showers rocked! Plentiful hot water and great pressure!
This was one of the top VRBO properties we have stayed at. Convenient to nice restaurants in Waynesville and we liked the convenience of being right off the main road. we did hear the traffic occasionally, but it was nothing that disturbed our stay.
Just a few notes for those who are considering this property. The driveway is a bit of a bear, especially at night--we were in a Ford Edge and managed without problems, but I can't imagine managing backing out of the drive in a full size truck (and I am a pretty decent driver used to pulling a trailer).
The are building two cabins on the adjacent property and on one day we heard hammering throughout the morning, but it didn't start until after we were already up and about.
They are cleaning out the area around the creek adjacent to the property, so it wasn't quite as picturesque as we had hoped and there was a backhoe parked below the house while we were there, which sort of marred the view.
There are a few steps up to the entrance, which we were aware of in advance. My 80-year-old mom, who has had knee replacement surgery, was able to manage them without problems by going slow, but those with disabilities might have some trouble getting into the property.
The cooking pots are in the bottom of a breakfront in the living area (a bit of a treasure hunt to find them, but they were plentiful once found).
If you are looking for a sleek modern "cabin" with lots of upscare accountrements this isn't the place for you. But if you are looking for a home away from home that is warm, relaxing, and welcoming, you won't find a better place than Brookside Cottage!

Myself, husband and 2 daughters (12 and 9) enjoyed our stay at Gary's place. It was comfortable for our family and equipped with all the basics.
We came to ski at Cataloochee and it was about a 10 min drive away, so very convenient. We mostly ate dinner out in downtown Waynesville which was about a 10 min drive with a cute little main street.

The cottage was adorable, and the yard was loved by the dog, particularly the creek. The location was convenient to everything! Owner was very nice, and easily accessible/responsive. Cottage was exactly as expected and had everything we needed to stay for the month. The fall colors were spectacular!!

While The owner was easy to contact and the inside looked like picture, it needed work. The kitchen was lacking utensils, baking dishes were limited, there was no bottom for broiler pan, no cookie sheet no sharp knives etc. This might work for folks on a short stay that eat out all the time but not a stay of a week or two. The mattress in one bedroom has a foam piece on top and is very soft. For sure the wood floors and rugs could use a good cleaning . The driveway is not long but a bit of a challenge. I would not choose to stay again .
