Whispering Pines turned Howling Hollows
Staff is always super.
Usually Whispering Pines is a place where my husband abd I go for a quick getaway, because it's usually very quiet, however this isn't the case this go around . Dogs on premises were constantly barking even until late hours of the evening and other guests were carrying on quite loudly. Room was really dusty. I'm allergic to dust and I couldn't run the ceiling fan due to the dust. I didn't want to say anything while we were there. Ceiling fan hadn't seen a dusting in months I'm sure. I have pictures of the dust.

Not like it use to be...
The grounds were quiet this time we stayed. Communication with the manager was always speedy and courteous. Breakfast was yummy and served with a smile! It was the highlight of our stay.
My husband and I have been patrons of The Whispering Pines B&B for over 5 years, and we've stayed in most of the rooms over that time. Sadly, we've seen things deteriorate in that 5 years. The whole grounds need updated, but here's what we seen: First, the area is in need of cleanup, especially the grounds around where our cottage was. As you walk from the Sterling Suite To the main house, there were old appliances sitting outside, and what I think was a grill to a truck was also propped up against some trees. The newly opened Sterling Suite is located in the house the owners use to live in. There's a lot of clutter outside the suite with a garden hose going across the porch. I had to be mindful not to trip over it, especially after dinner when we walked back as the lighting is not good up that walkway. Inside the suite, the fireplace was nice, but we couldn't run the heat to it because when we did, the smell of dirt and dust came from it and I'm allergic to dust. We did have the wall mounted heater/ air conditioner to fall back on should it get too cold. Ceiling fans were not dusted as I requested and the marble floors were sticky with something. The bed was comfy as at first, but became uncomfortable throughout the night. Also the remote controls to the TV are FILTHY. I clean homes and so I see the small details and this cottage is in need of spring cleaning. Kitchenette also was missing spoons, the customary snacks, extra dishes and glassware we've come to expect from most of their suites. When we asked our server for two wine glasses as we had wine in our suite for after dinner, she initially refused and offered me two plastic cups! I had to tell her I texted the manager and had permission to borrow the glasses. They then obliged. Also, about 5am, I heard some scratching and chewing on the other side of our wall. I couldn't tell what it was, but it was rather unsettling.

A Beautiful Anniversary Getaway
We've stayed in the Satin Splendor Suite before and chose this room again because of the comfy bed and it's rustic charm. It's exactly what we love in a getaway and it's my favorite room to stay in! Tracy was also very thoughtful and put some little extra touches in our room to make it look extra special. She's a wonderful host! Breakfast was great too; They even accommodated me when I ordered eggs over easy instead of scrambled, even thigh it isn't on the menu. We will definitely be coming back!
Prices in the restaurant went up so we were sad that we had to skip dining in the restaurant. Also, we couldn't get the ceiling fan to turn on although the light in it worked, and when you flip the switch to the fan, you can see it does nice very slightly, so we decided to not use it.

Cute, cozy B&B I’ll return to time & again!
The staff is amazing, the location remote but accessible to Norman. A great quiet, romantic escape whether you are local or traveling. I enjoyed our stay and will continue to book with them!
The rooms need a little basic upkeep. Paint chips on the walls, outlet covers scratched, simple things like that.

We will be back such a cozy place !
The property was well lit and decorated for the holidays. Inside was a beautiful Christmas tree and train set with a staircase that was lit up. So cozy and comforting.
Nothing!

The breakfast was delicious and the location was awesome.
The only thing we found uncomfortable were the pillows.

Beautiful property and delicious food, but needs improvement.
The food was delicious! Everything was gourmet. I would give a 10 star rating for the food alone. BEAUTIFUL exterior. It was a shame it was so hot and there were so many mosquitoes, because we would have liked to walk the grounds more and possibly eaten outside. The interior was decorated nicely. Felt homey but fancy.
The room had a bit of a musty smell to it. The couch and bed were obviously over used because both would sink in too much where many, many people have sat and slept over the years. It made them a little uncomfortable. The jets in the bathtub did not work, which was very disappointing as we were looking forward to a jacuzzi bath the most. We had dinner reservations at 6pm, but when we arrived, no one was around. We waited for a bit and then finally called. They said their server was late. The server never showed up. The kitchen staff ended up serving us. They were very nice, though, and the food was amazing. No bartender, so only beer or wine could be served. They just need to hire more staff. Finally, they have a DVD selection to watch a movie in your room. Our DVD player did not work, so we also could not use this feature of the stay.
