Beautifully refurbished mansion and well maintained exterior with comfortable front porch seating. Not a typical hotel stay experience but a stay at a friend’s quiet and relaxing historical mansion. Complimentary self parking at back of mansion. Great location! Just few minutes walk into town for restaurants, bars and shops of various kinds! Friendly welcome waiting for our arrival time confirmed in advance. Offer to assist with baggage via staircase to second floor and orientation to suite amenities. We stayed in the corner king suite that has a three-step down to bedroom from the suite entry and large renovated washroom level. Large walkin shower with luxury washroom products. Wonderful bed linens, quality mattress and pillows very comfortable. Easy to use suite hvac by remote. All exceptionally clean! Well presented quality coffee and tea making either in room or in common kitchen same floor. Welcome local truffles and hand written note. Small fridge with various complimentary beverages. Fresh, generous and delicious large ‘breakfast in bed’ tray (heavy) delivered outside your door each morning. Note:no restaurant or coffee shop on site. Wonderful and helpful staff - Elizabeth, Jake and Macy! Thank you!

Few suggestions to improve overall experience would be adding live TV, (only Netflix access during our stay) installing pulls for curtains to facilitate opening/closing high drapes, coasters with coffee/tea cup tray for beautiful walnut furniture, knowing in advance mobile number to communicate with staff once on site (no hardline contact from room available), installing ramp at end of open porch side entry for suitcases. Entry from side porch avoids using front mansion steps with suitcases.

Great location - close to the town centre, walking distance to restaurants, bars, cafes, and ice-cream shop! Onsite parking available. Beautiful exterior and interior space. Smooth check-in and check-out process. We did not have much interaction with the staff but the staff who facilitated our check-in process is very friendly. Many sweet touches in the room including welcome chocolates, notes, diffuser (with the best smelling essential oil blend provided), complimentary drinks (wide selection: sparkling water, beer, sparkling rose). High quality toiletry products. The breakfast spread was beautiful - locally grown ingredient gracefully arranged. Definitely a high-end and luxury experience.

The room description for our room (suite with spa bath) was misleading. We didn't realize there is no ensuite until we checked in the place. I did find out later that the staff sent me a message beforehand informing me of this situation, but nothing could be done even if I saw that message on time (the booking is non-refundable and rooms were fully booked for the long weekend). I wish the description for this room can be more accurate, as "This suite features a seating area, private entrance and spa bath." sounds like the spa bath is within the suite. The "spa bath" consists of one bathtub and two bathroom stalls - although private, it is across the hallway from our suite and right next to another suite. It is a huge inconvenience especially if you need to use the bathroom at night! For the price, we certainly did not expect to not have an ensuite, and would certainly not book this room if we were aware of this information beforehand! Despite the good location and hospitality, we were thrown off by the false expectations for the room :( There is AC at the property but no control panel in the room, which could be a problem if you have low heat tolerance (my boyfriend found the room too warm at night). When we removed the pillows from the bed, wee noticed lots of dust accumulating between the heardboard and the mattress - not a huge problem for us we just covered the gap with pillows. The rooms are not sound proof we could head our neighbours watching TV, coughing and using electric razors. Just some heads up for the guests visiting! We did have some positive experience and may com back to CAPE in the future, but definitely not going to book the same suite.
