As mentioned in previous reviews there is a problem with ants Spare bedding and pillows in cupboard is stained and dirty Bathroom could do with an upgrade but this is typical for Roman apartments

Spacious, modern apartment in a quiet building on a stunning street in the Monti area

A spacious, modern and well-ordered apartment in a beautiful and quiet building on a stunning, hidden street in the Monti area though just a short walk to the Foro Romano. The apartment was very clean and a new shower head had been installed which pumped out plenty of hot water. Both the living area and bedroom were spacious and the arches and white walls gave it more of a Spanish than Rome city-centre feel. Overall, a very satisfying experience in a perfect location.

Tucked into the corner of the second floor the structure of the apartment does not generate a lot of natural light as there is only one small window high up in the bedroom though in the summer this was not an issue as the ac unit and thick walls kept it cool.

Could be a great place if the host fixed the issues and improved their communication.

It was close to a lot of tourist attractions, especially the Colosseum.

First of all, the host speaks Italian only (fair enough, we can use a translator nowadays), that in itself was slowing things down a little. I asked the host in writing multiple times if we could leave our bags at the place before check-in just for safekeeping and received no answer whatsoever until around 11:29 AM on the day of the check-in we were bluntly told that we can go in… More on this below. On check-in day we were told that we will receive the check-in instructions on WhatsApp (which I do not use), instead of the booking platform. This practice should be banned by booking in my humble opinion, if for nothing else, because during a dispute it would be much harder to prove what was said and done if part or all of the comms was done on a third-party platform. After some futile messaging on the booking platform, I installed WhatsApp and we received the check-in instructions and managed to get in. It was very cumbersome. However, there was no electricity in the apartment! The toilet could not be flushed and the shower-head mount was broken, and so on and so forth. So we messaged the host to kindly fix the electrical issue, but the host was unable to do so. On top of this the cleaner showed up at check-in time (around 3PM) to do the cleaning! This should have been done way before check-in. After about two hours of messaging and waiting, the host presented us with another accommodation. We had to travel to another place, about 20 mins from the original apartment. The substitute apartment, was in an old building which is currently undergoing renovation, and looks very ugly on the outside. The internal of the substitute apartment was OK. It must have been renovated recently. We took the substitute accommodation as we had no alternative. On check-out day I messaged again the host if we could leave our bags at the accommodation post-check out for a few hours for safekeeping. We received no answer.
