The room was roomy, light and comfortable. Dinner menu was exceptional with choice and quality and the breakfast on offer was extremely varied.
My wife is disabled and upon arrival there were no parking spaces available due to a large function. Even the disabled parking was taken up selfishly and there was no organisation to prevent it.

We enjoyed our stay at Jesmond Dene House, which has lovely rooms, comfortable beds and we enjoyed an excellent breakfast served by friendly staff.
However, several small details fell short of what we would expect from a 4-star hotel.
We booked 2 rooms. The first room (35) smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke, although reception moved us promptly (to 36).
The doors did not double-lock from the inside, which did not feel particularly secure. In the 2nd room (42) there were no USB charging ports, and the bathroom bin had not been emptied on arrival.
Other minor issues in room 36 included a very low shower, frayed towels and supplies that needed replenishing (tissues & loo roll). The breakfast charge could also have been explained more clearly as we were surprised that the £46.20 breakfast charge on check-out included service, when breakfast was advertised as £21.
Despite these shortcomings, we enjoyed our stay and would return for the location and easy parking.
