The Manor House At Celtic Manor

The property is lovely. We have stayed several times and will continue to come back. It’s well taken care of and the staff is amazing. We especially love the quaint little bar and the PAD restaurant.

Staff were lovely. Shuttle bus great. Food was great. Room was great.

When we arrived there was an empty wine glass outside our room door. It stayed there all afternoon and night and the next morning it was joined by a tray of dirty crockery and utensils from next door. Non of it was removed until Saturday evening when we complained about it. Didnt affect our stay but not a good look for a high class hotel. We were also told we would get a discount on our parking as we stayed 3 nights. We didn't. Parking is very expensive. Would still come back though!

Big comfy bed, access to the leisure facilities

The connecting door to the next room meant there was absolutely no sound insulation. We were kept up by the couple next door talking late into the night then woken early in the morning to hear them having sex. Not exactly the peaceful night sleep we had in mind. The resort is massive but it’s also a really confusing layout. We spent most of the morning trying to find our way around to the restaurant in the other building for breakfast and then to checkout then back to the leisure centre. I was looking forward to accessing their “2000 acres of rolling Welsh countryside” but informed there was some tree felling happening so none of the paths were open. A bit disappointing after we had been given a map, trekked back to the main hotel and the had to turn around and go all the way back again. Also, charging for parking when they know there is nowhere else to park is just not on.
