The Celtic Manor Resort

The Hotel is beautiful

Too small beds. We couldn’t find a family room so we have booked two rooms. Rooms wasn’t next to each other and beds were too small, Mattress was uncomfortable.

Normally stay in the Manor House but this time stayed in the main resort. The whole property is great in general & Facilities are usually pretty good but this time it was a little disappointing considering we paid more for upgrade for special occasions and it wasn’t worth it.

We booked for our wedding anniversary and asked for roses on the bed which I had an email to confirm this would be done, it wasn’t. When checking in we paid more for an upgrade to bigger room with balcony and XL king bed. Room was lovely, However when we were going to spa and health club, only 1 robe was in the room not two. We phoned at 8am to request additional and was told someone would be up to drop this, they never came! So we had to go to the spa without. The pool was overcrowded considering we booked slots in advance. There were only 2 lifts working and this weekend being Halloween it was hectic with people cramming in lifts then it didn’t go to the floors it needed as everyone trying to get in and out of every floor. Spent 25 mins just waiting for lifts. Carpark issues after paying to exit, the barriers didn’t work even tho people have paid, when we inserted the ticket it said ticket not recognised and doesn’t let people out until you press help button for 5 mins causing tail backs. The people behind us just drove straight out after us. We have stayed here before many times but have never had issues like this.

Stayed for 1 night away with the wife, used steak on 6. Everything was perfect. Will be returning soon!

Very expensive and seemed a bit dated in areas of the hotel
