The location was great, close to the city center. We had a comfortable stay. The room was clean.

Practical location, close to Königsplatz (local transportation hub) and Hauptbahnhof (central station) with both ca 5-10 min walk away and downtown Augsburg. Unassuming rooms, practical, and relatively clean. Comfortable bed. Staff very helpful, not least when the first room I got clearly was occupied by a smoker before - a quick, no-questions-asked change of my room. relatively long stay in room on date of check-out, with option to work from the restaurant or a small lobby lounge
Although my room was changed, but the hotel seems to have challenges with residents smoking or having smoked. Burn-marks in carpet, windowsills, and still a subtle smoking scent. Location of the hotel makes it practical, but rooms to the front means exposure to street with car and local train traffic making leaving the window open at night a non-option

Room was cool and comfortable (despite 2026 heatwave). Good shower and comfy bed along with friendly staff. The room rates can be kept low by being outside the picturesque old city. For us, proximity to the station on foot was priority but actually city centre attractions were only 10-15 mins walk. Expectations have to match the limitations of a 2 star city Ibis budget option. For the money in a popular tourist destination, this no frills example met our needs for a few days
Ibis 2 star don't go in for kettles/tea making in their rooms and we always miss that hugely! Coffee/tea is available 24/7 in the bar which makes up for that a little. .
