Everything much better than expected for 3*. Very friendly staff, always happy to help. Even managed to check me in early and kept a bag for me on check out so I could hike uetliberg!

The cody rooms comfy beds and pillow menu.
The noisy street due to late night clubs coming onto the street ! A lot of shouting seems to pursue. There are church bells which after a while become comforting. If you want quiet get a room looking over the courtyard.

Great location, clean building, clean room. Room looks recently modernized. Check in/out was easy. No hassles with the hotel.
We chose this more expensive hotel specifically because it said it has AC. It does have a weak AC but the hotel controls it and turns it off at night. Noise from the street and the church bells going every 15 minutes makes sleeping with an open window for air a skill not a convenience.
Bathroom has a giant clear glass wall & door with a thin strip of mild frosting. Then they etched words into the frosting that you can see through and put mirrors around so you easily see into the bathroom with peripheral vision. Not sure my wife would like the lack of privacy but I know my father didn't.
Mattresses are pretty thin. In 8 different hotels I used on my vacation this bed was the only one that made my back a little sore.
Breakfast was a typical cold German/Swiss continental buffet for €23/$27. It definitely is not a good value with breakfast cafes just meters away. However this is a common problem across European hotels and is not unique to Hotel Scheuble.
