Carrington Hotel

Stated in Colonial Wing in lovely bedroom with ensuite. Quiet, clean and tea/coffee facilities. Seat in Stained glass bay window lovely for relaxing. Bed comfy and really appreciated the blanket - it is cold there. The providore store was excellent.

Not the hotel fault but a large group had very fragrant T/A curry in lounge on 1st floor - it wafted everywhere.

The Carrington is a beautiful heritage hotel with plenty of charm, but unfortunately the amenities did not match the premium price. For a four-star hotel charging more than $400 per night, I expected a much higher standard. The room did not have a coffee machine, only instant coffee. I travel frequently and can't remember the last time I stayed in a four-star hotel that didn't provide a pod coffee machine. The room itself was spacious, but the television was surprisingly small and only offered two free-to-air channels. At this price point, I would expect a smart TV with access to streaming services or Foxtel. The bathroom was large and attractive, but the amenities were underwhelming. The toilet paper was only one-ply, which felt out of place in a hotel of this standard. There were six shower caps provided, yet none of the other basic toiletries you would normally expect. On arrival, the fridge contained two small bottles of complimentary water, but these were not replenished during our second night. Overall, while the hotel has plenty of character, the lack of quality amenities made the stay feel poor value for money. I left disappointed and, unfortunately, would not recommend staying here at the current price.
