The view especially from the restaurant

- The view from the balcony over the lake was AMAZING - one of the best
- The staff were kind and not intrusive - the atmosphere was relaxed
- the staff were very responsive to questions before we arrived
- My son was able to 'work from home' there with no problem
- Although there was a fan in the room, it really needed air-conditioning! It would be difficult to spend time there during the day and it was hard to sleep at night.
- The electrics in the room were very overloaded with extension leads and adapters
- There was a strong drain smell in our room when we returned to sleep
- Not a problem for us but it does seem strange to close the spa for 10 days of maintenance in the middle of August?

The view from this hotel is spectacular. The same for The Deck restaurant and bar. The room was extremely clean. The food was very good quality in the restaurant and there was one waitress who was lovely (I didn't catch her name but thank you!).
1. This is basically a motel with a view. It is very poor value for money. It is a very old and cramped building. The prices are not justifiable
2. There are so many staff members but most are more keen on chatting to each other than doing their jobs. We got turned out the breakfast both mornings and on the second morning the staff on the changeover shift started playing loud and obnoxious music
3. The bar was barely open the three days we were there. The day we checked out we were not allowed to sit at the bar with the view as they 'were not open yet' at 11.30am, despite us being told by another staff member they open at 11am. As a paying hotel guest I cannot see why it was not possible to even sit there
4. I had to wait 20minutes before anyone showed up to reception to check me in.
