disappointing but great location.

location was great

We didn’t realise the hotel was part of a nursing home and that we were expected to have breakfast with our daughters in the same area as the residents. We just did not feel comfortable with that. The rooms were very small and the beds and pillows not very comfortable. the rooms were also only prepared for one person not two.

Do not expect much

- Great location - Room service cleans every day - The hotel is linked with a house for seniors/medical facility, I find it as a nice example of corporate social responsibility.

- Reception service is opened only between 7:00-12:00 and 13:30-17:00. This would not be a problem until you have things you need to solve.... My experience started upon arrival, when my key was supposed to be jn outside locker. Everything was clear, got instruction how to collect key, but then I openned a locker and the key was not there, so I had to wait for reception to open. - Internet is a big mystery to me in this hotel. My stay was for three nights, but I got only internet for one day (paper with code). The next day when I came from business meeting, the reception was closed, waitress in restaurant busy, so I could not work which was a problem for me. Why cannot they give you connection for whole stay? - Breakfast is very limited, almost nothing to choose from. If you come a but later, there is no ham or salami and the portions of eggs you can order are very small. - My bed was also not very comfortable, especially the pillow.

Neat quiet place in central St.Gallen

-The hotel is very well located, just by the old town of St. Gallen. Very convenient. -The place is quiet. -There is a free parking in an underground garage onsite. -The hotel serves a good social purpose, as right next to it is a senior person housing, and the two share a dining facility. -Clean and neat.

-There is not much not to like. The hotel was in line with our expectations and the online description.

Saint Gallen a place to visit

very polite and helpful staff, always willing to be supportive. location very good next to the old city/center. breakfast good and quite rich with qualitative products.

apart from the positive and qualitative services stated above i have to stress that the establishment is focused on other activities than hospitality.

It was fantastic!

the room was very cozy, the bed was so comfortable, the staff was super nice and helpful, and the breakfast was really good!!

i would’ve loved to have a tea kettle in the room.

Being directly in the centre of town plus the free parking is definitely a plus point

The location is super, in the centre of town and the bonus point of free parking.

Due to the dark furniture plus dark curtain, it makes the room very depressive. The dining area too needs a fresh redone.

Reservation features are not respected

The booking is for a bed and not the room as you can't use certain things if traveling alone. There was no wifi in the room and the claim to have it

Disappointing

Good location and clean

WiFi situation was bad, had to have a voucher only one per device and not enough for all of our devices. We got kicked off internet one night and couldn’t re log on bc the voucher had been “used”.

Very disappointing, very bad and uncomfortable start of a holiday

The "nurse" working for the Pension Home for Elderly (Establishment Medical Social for Elderly) met us and managed to check-in for us as the reception was closed at 17.00, we appreciated very much for her kind assistance even though it was NOT her business nor her job at all.

It was the worst and most disappointing experience I have ever had ever since I use your platform to book hotels for my trips. I must say what the pictures shown are NOT the real situation or perhaps misleading. The establishment offers simply a GUEST ROOM for visiting family to the elderly staying in the Pension Home. It CANNOT be rate as a hotel, I am afraid. 1. Difficult to locate the establishment, even with GPS and full address, no where to indicate it as a "HOTEL" but KURSANA RESIDENZ. 2. Reception closed at 17.00 with no alternative to organise check-in. We were fortunate to meet the "nurse" working in the Pension Home, so that we could at least get the key into our room. If not, we would have to find another hotel for the night. 3. The room (no. 4) on the ground floor was small, smelly and terrible. The bathroom was like those in the hospital/Medical Social Establishment, but definately NOT a hotel bathroom as booked and expected. There was only curtain not a proper shower cabinate which made the whole bathroom wet and slippery after shower. Despite a long drive, my husband refused to take even a shower. 4. I requested for a double bed, it was simply two single beds putting together side by side. Despite a long day, we had a sleepless night. I totallly agreed with an other traveller's comment (Paul from UK): "OK for crash out, would not stay longer" and complete understand his feeling - if I would have read your comment before I booked. 5. I booked for 2 nights, as we could not had a decent sleep so we requested to leave earlier but we were charged FULLY for 2 nights. I understand with the COVID-19, we were all in difficult situation but I would appreciate a little flexibility from the establishment. 6. Breakfast was ok with no much choice though. Again the restaurant was shared with the elderly staying in the Home.

Would stay again.

Location perfect for exploring the historic centre of St. Gallen. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and quiet room. Very good breakfast. Free parking in the centre of the city! The concept of mixing a hotel with the home for the elderly - we enjoyed interaction with the residents.

The room was on the small side but we did not spend much time there anyway.

Very nice hotel and people. Good access to the city and free parking.

The initiative of a hotel which shares space and common areas with a elderly home is great.

It would be great if the staff, especially in the reception, speaks a litle bit of english.

Pleasant

The breakfast was really nice. The room spacious and bathroom as well

I had 2 beds but I was not allowed to touch the other bed, there was a note paper there. I have never seen that in a hotel before. Since the hotel is part of an elderly staying house, it does feel quite strange, not a pretty comfortable ambience, since you have to be always super careful, quiet. I do not know if I will recommend it for another say.
