The location. The rooms were perfectly adequate and clean.
A bit pricey. Plus I thought at least breakfast would be served on site. Although the spread at the big hotel was awesome and made up for having to walk there and back in the windswept rain.

Pretty standard 3 star hotel. Beds were comfortable and the breakfast at Hotel Geysir next door was outstanding.
One small annoyance was the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room. You had to use a shared facility at the end of the hallway.

Little Geysir has free parking and is located right across from the Geysirs! The room is oke, with comfy bed and spacious room.
When we arrived at little Geysir there was a notice that the reception was closed and that we had to check in at the other location. The breakfast area in little Geysir was also closed and breakfast was only possible at the other location for a way to high 4500 ISK (30 euro) per person!!...
The heating wasn't working at little Geysir for us and other guests.....
When we showered part of the water wouldn't go towards the drain but towards the rest of the bathroom, slowly making the entire bathroom floor wet. Both the shower and the faucet kept on dripping....
There is no ventilation system in the bathroom, so you will need to open a window, letting small flies in......
And lastly the towel rack was not fully attached and could come off at any minute ....
