The location is beautiful. There is a lovely, peaceful trail along the river. The sauna and hot tub were great and staff very accommodating to get it all heated up. The beds were very comfortable.
We were not able to have the included breakfast due to our travel schedule. They were very kind to prepare some food to take with us. Unfortunately it wasn’t really breakfast food - more like lunch and only for one person. So while appreciated, it could have been better.

The breakfast and dinner reflected Nordic minimalism prioritizing quality over quantity. Let me share a cute story. So i had to leave at 6am the morning i was checking out, and there is no receptionist available from 10pm to 8am (if i remember correctly the times, and which i believe is normal for a small family run cottage type hotel, there is an emergency number to call if any guest needs anything). So the night before i go to the receptionist and i tell her i need to settle my bill because i am leaving early tomorrow so she goes but you will miss breakfast and i was like, yeah it's ok and then she responds, i am going to leave you a little bag on the receptionist desk in the morning so i thanked her. I got up, packed and was about to leave at 530am, dropped the room key on the reception desk only to find the cutest bag with my room number on it filled with professionally wrapped breakfast goodies :)
Nothing in particular, maybe in the future, cash flows permitting, the hotel can work on upgrading the "spa" section, cold plunge barrel + Jacuzzi + Sauna. This might not be a priority but i have grown to appreciate the importance of those especially with the unpredictable weather of Iceland which might force you to stick around your lodge of accommodation and hence use the amenities.

Beautiful and charming cottages.
It was not clean to my standards.Sharing with 5 people that very small bath was a challenge.
