It’s quaint and quirky and round. I definitely got the experience I was hoping for and expecting from the photos. As an added fun touch, they have colored LEDs pointing up at the ceiling for some really fun ambience. We set it to green to celebrate the Northern Lights! Overall we are happy with our stay. 😊
If you are wondering about darkness, yes, it is plenty dark to see the aurora if the clouds stay away. We spent an evening in the field in front of the hotel with our cameras and got some lovely photos!
My biggest recommendation is that you bring food. The nearest place to get much of anything is Selfoss. We were grateful for the instant coffee, but it wasn’t very yummy. (Note to the owners, put some nice coffee grounds in the cabinet to go with the French press that you provide!)
Other than that, there isn’t very good ventilation, and everything got super humid after showering. We turned the vent fan on in the bathroom to run while we left, and when we came back it seemed that the hotel staff had come in and turned it off, and everything was kinda damp. We were on ground floor, so didn’t feel comfortable leaving the windows open while we were gone, so it was a bit annoying that it seemed that we “weren’t allowed” to use the vent fan when we were gone.

Nice rooms, the views, near golden circle and Landmannalaugar, a bit different from the ordinary.
I didn’t dislike anything but it isn’t a place for those who don’t like outdoor stairs going round the tower and the sound they make (apartment 1 is without stairs).

the location is good, Parking straight at the back of the tower. Very nice to be at a round wall room. Well equiped and good linen. Good mattress. Last floor with a 360* view .
I couldn´t Open the door. I had to call host and was told that door was swollen due to winter and I had to push harder the door in.
The host when giving the key and codes instructions to the customers, shouldm allert that due to metal construction of the tower, people should not run up and down the steps, people should slowly walk up and down the metal steps because the whole structure waves .

The concept of the tower itself is nice with the observation deck on the top
It was cold and no mean to set the heating.
