Beautiful location with comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and delicious breakfast!

They served us a plated breakfast. It was delicious!!! The staff were so nice and friendly and spoke English well enough to communicate everything necessary. They even had suggestions for lunch and dinner restaurants that were great! Location is great. Only a 10 minute walk (uphill) from the train station. They offer free shuttle service to and from the station so that was awesome!

Exceptional

the lady in the counter was so nice to help us arranging the rooms even though we arrived late. the day we left was raining. she was kind helping us moving the luggages to avoid us being rained. 100% counter lady

Superb

The excellent breakfast, the jazz music, the wood fire in the evening, the proximity to the town and the park nearby, the easy washing machine and dryer, pleasant, helpful staff. Also the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was small but clean. The Japanese baths were great. We hadn't expected those- so an added extra.The free shuttle service to the station was a good help.

The only thing we would have liked was that the floor under the beds was clean and not dusty.

Loved my stay, would highly recommend.

This was the best experience I’ve had in Japan. The staff were extremely welcoming and it felt like I was staying with friends. The restaurant was fabulous and the location was great. My room was on the bayside and I would watch the sun rise each morning, breathtaking.

A cosy stay

A lovely retro atmosphere hotel on a steep hill overlooking Matsushima bay. Really excellent quality and variety of breakfast served on each of the days. Welcoming and helpful hosts and appreciated the free shuttle to the station as the hotel is on a hill, it was a nice touch. The free private baths were nice, especially the hinoki bath. A lovely view from the room of forest and sea.

Exceptional

Great location and very friendly owners. The breakfast was top notch.

There was some renovations going on but it really did not affect the stay. In fact, I would consider going back again to enjoy the garden when completed.

A delightful place, the helpful attitude of the staff makes the stay even better.

Attitude of the staff, ambience. The sunrise view from the top of the hotel.

Lighting inside the room could improve, it was very dim with no option to increase the brightness. Room cleanliness can improve. Room was small for three individual beds.
