The location is excellent - just a short walk along the beach to Walking Street. There are live performers along the beach eg. Fire man & singers at the beach restaurants. Sunbeds along the beach were great for relaxing & getting a drink from the hotel bar nearby.
Where do I start? Although reception asked about our arrival time & boat company, nobody picked us up at the pier. We had to ask a driver from another hotel to make a call to Mali. Eventually a driver arrived. The approach to Mali is very unsightly, lots of rubbish, building waste etc. It looks very unprofessional. When I mentioned to reception that nobody was waiting at the pier, the receptionist didn't care nor did she smile at any time. Generally staff look very unhappy, no smiles & unfriendly. The air conditioning took a long time to cool the room & the ceiling fan sounded like a helicopter. We noticed many maintenance issues, slow drainage in shower floor waste, shower head attachment broken, missing deck boards, broken taps and exposed wires. There was no coffee or tea facilities & the bed sloped towards the middle because there were 2 single mattresses joined together to form a large bed. If you need fast internet you will be frustrated.
