Breakfast - Good choice, English breakfast well cooked and continental gave plenty of choice
. Evening meal was cooked to order but I couldn't see why I was relegated to the bar when the restaurant was open with several guests enjoying a more conducive and comfortable environment.
The shower controls were very antiquated and the on off selector didn't run smoothly between flow and stop. The other problem was the water heat control - again very antiquated and difficult to determine the function of the tiny plunger on the tap housing - presumably this was to differentiate between hot and cold, but the just didn't prove to be the case.

Good quality, plenty of choices. Prompt and pleasant service. Good surroundings.
Room was a bit too warm. Maybe because it was on 3rd floor?

Period charm of authentic parts of the building. Comfortable beds and good room facilities. Pleasant, professional staff.
Pigeon nest and mess on room balcony, as it was on a previous stay.
Noise disturbance until the early hours from unexpected onsite events affecting all three of our booked rooms.
Cigarette smoke odour in rooms from people smoking in the courtyards under windows.
