Breakfast was great, but the best thing about Avalon are the people. The hosts were great. Unfortunatly I had a problem with my rental car which caused the car alarm to sound repeatedly early in the morning, Paul was very patient and helpful as I tried to sort the problem out, a great guy.
No negative comments specific to Avalon. Scotland in general is quite pricey these days, and Avalon was good value for money compared to other properties we saw.

Very clean. Great breakfast. Comfortable room. King-size bed. Good hosts. Tea and cookies in room. Milk provided.
Very strict on times. Thankfully, my arrival time was within the time limit for checking in. It is a bit of a walk from the downtown area - made me a little nervous at night by myself.

Cleanliness
The broilers stop at 7pm. I arrived around 10 from dinner to take a shower, and the water was cold!
The manager said that, that is how it is, so no real solution. That was unpleasant. It was written in small letters in the bunch of house rules that were handed, but never in Booking.
A lot of house rules, I felt like in the military and not on holidays.
