Comfortable, clean, good wi-fi so was able to work.

Breakfast was very good, although it would have been nice to have extra fresh seasonal fruit. Room was very clean and comfortable and staff delightful & helpful.

It would have been nice to have ice available in the honour bar, later in the evening.

A very comfortable, friendly, exceptionally clean hotel, near to local shops/beach.

Exceptionally clean, the lounge and conservatory were very attractive and comfy, friendly staff, room was a good size, beds were really comfortable to sleep in, breakfast’s were delicious. Hotel was a short walk to the beach/shops.

The service at breakfast, was slightly slow.

Superb

Lovely hotel with excellent room and access to a gorgeous garden! Ideal with a dog. Have booked again. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful.and the breakfast has a nice selection to suite everybody. Very large conservatory with an honesty well stocked bar.

If you bring a dog, you have to eat under cover in the garden which is fine when its sunny but not so great when it's raining. Feel a bit austrasized but a heater is available if needed. Other hotels we have stayed in provide a separate room for dog owners. Maybe the conservatory could be used for this purpose.

Real gem of a place.

Traditional hotel. Well run with very polite staff. Wonderful breakfast with piping hot food. Loved the honesty bar that was extremely well stocked. Excellent location with on site car parking. Would stay again.

Only minor concern was the creaking floorboards.

Misleading room pictures

This was situated on the outskirts of sidmouth with free car parking and within walking distance of the town and beach

The rooms pictured as standard king rooms on booking.com that we had booked were actually the superior and superior plus rooms as told to us by the owner...this caused us great disappointment . and is surely against the trades description act... having a small room in the eaves with sloping ceiling and a very small bathroom ..we had requested a bath which we got although it was a tight squeeze to get into with a sink and toilet very close in a small space...in no way did the room look like the pictures ..avoid room 24....this has been discussed on checkout with the owner and reported to booking.com as a complaint and misrepresentation of the bedroom types

The hotel was flawless, comfortable with attentive, charming, staff.

Breakfast, the full English, superbly cooked and beautifully presented, Dinner was exemplary, with excellent beef.

quaint old hotel 300m from Sidmouth beach with large rear garden and terrace. very friendly owners. breakfast was good.

our room was small and very basic for the price. it was at the far end of tortuous corridors with several steps - so not suitable for mobility probs.

Fantastic!

The hosts Dan and Megan make you feel welcome from the moment you step through the door for the first time. The rooms are all individually decorated, spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much for them. Breakfast is lovely and definitely worth trying the evening meals they are delicious and very good value for money. Can't forget to mention the dogs Coco and Chip who also welcome you into their home and the free range chickens that roam around the garden during the day are just a delight to see. Thank you for a lovely stay and we would definitely recommend to anyone considering a visit to Sidmouth and should we venture down there again we would definitely return to this hotel.

A lovely, romantic weekend break at this lovely hotel - within easy reach of Sidmouth Town

We were upgraded to a larger room which was very spacious and clean - nicely presented throughout. We particularly liked the honest bar which was a lovely touch! The evening meal was delicious - served on time and with good humour..

This is a beautiful hotel, excellently maintained and wonderfully decorated. The staff and owners could not do enough for us. Would definitely recommend and 100% would come back. Easy walking to the town centre and seafront.

I’ve driven past this hotel for over 50 years and never been inside. I regret this. it’s a. beautiful property being lovingly restored by the current owners. it’s warm cosy and comfortable with great staff and owners.

Relaxing and peaceful place for mature people, not really for young families

Excellent breakfasts. Megan and Dan are really great hosts, no problem was to small. Wonderful flowers for my wife anniversary. The location of The Woodlands Hotel is within walking distance of the sea front. The beach is very pebberly which makes it great for swimmers. Large car parking space.

Restaurants closed early in Sidmouth, you needed to book early.

We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to our next visit.

Had a very nice bright room. All the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. All of the food was very well presented and tasted very good.

Overprices fio what it was

Bed was very comfortable. Location excellent Shower and bathroom first class

Room the size of a prison cell. Not able to open a properly sized window, very stuffy Stains on the carpet. Nowhere to sit comfortably Television in wrong location Being told the order in which to order breakfast.
