I treated my husband to a night here on his birthday. We had a lovely swim in the outdoor pool. Even though we did not have a sea view listed in the booking we had a lovely side on view of Sidmouth and the sea!
We had a lovely meal in the evening after a perfect cocktail in the bar. The staff were terrific too!

Excellent location, hotel benefits from a good outdoor pool space and indoor spa
We arrived 20 minutes early of the ‘official’ check in time (3pm). We were allowed to check in but told our room wasn’t ready, they didn’t check to see if it was ready, just immediately announced it wasn’t ready, and to come back 20 minutes later. We sat by reception and 20 min, they took no phone call and no staff came to reception. 20 minutes later I went back to the desk and asked if we could have our room, the guy looked at his watch, said it was now time, took the key from a pigeon hole as said it was okay now. Seems very petty not to give the key 20 mins early.
