Very cool place to stay

Location is superb right across from the train station and Annecy is such a walkable city it was very easy to get around. Breakfast was lovely and the staff all super friendly and helpful.
Room was very small and there was nowhere to sit (except the balcony but it was raining during our stay). The location of the bathroom means if someone needs to use it in the night and turn on the light you wake the other person up.

The location is excellent, very close to the train and bus station and within easy walking distance of Annecy’s old town. There is also a supermarket nearby, our room had a small balcony, and the hotel has a pleasant smell.
Unfortunately, that is where the positives ended for us.
The room was extremely small, with barely enough space to walk down one side of the bed. The bedside tables were so tiny as to be virtually useless and there was nowhere to put anything. There wasn’t really a bathroom: the sink was actually in the bedroom, while the toilet and shower were in separate cupboards opening directly off the room. The shower had see through doors, which offered very little privacy.
Housekeeping also left a lot to be desired. We were provided with paper cups rather than glasses, and on two days these weren’t replenished. The shower mat wasn’t replaced either. The towels were small and rough.
Our arrival didn’t create a particularly good first impression. We arrived at around 2.35pm for a 3pm check-in on a very hot day and were greeted outside by a receptionist who was smoking. Outside We were told the room wasn’t ready and to return at 3pm. There was no comfortable lounge or reception area in which to wait and we weren’t offered so much as a glass of water.
We travel a great deal this was our 16th hotel stay this year and this was, without question, the poorest value for money of any of them.
It may suit someone looking for a stylish, conveniently located base for a night or two, but for a longer stay we found it cramped, uncomfortable and very disappointing for something marketed as a four-star hotel.
