Staff were lovely and friendly, food was beautiful (especially breakfast), bar was well stocked, room was clean and spacious, offered towels/extra tea and coffee regularly, pub downstairs quitened down at a reasonable time, pub had good varied entertainment, good location in town, staff gave good tips on where to visit, all round excellent

Property is over 500yr old. Still has low beam ceilings with flagstone floors very olde world style. Lovely modernised touches fairy lights in all the beams in the bars scatter cushions on chairs it really works well wooden chairs and tables with low slung leather sofas. Our bedroom was at the top of the hotel with picturesque views over the river to looe.
Nothing at all to dislike.

There was a cosy atmosphere and the hosts, Gary and Zoe, were exceptionally friendly and helpful, as were all the staff. The room was comfortable, clean and well-equipped. The pub had great food and beer. The location was great, just 10-15 minute walk from the station and central yet quiet. Wonderful breakfasts, particularly Gary’s award-winning salmon bombe. Very reasonably priced too, we loved our stay
