The flats are a few metres from the pool, which is itself right next to the beach. There is no charge for sun loungers/parasols by the pool, and since it's a few steps from the beach we never bothered paying for the ones on the beach. We really loved the chilled atmosphere - there's a bar/cafe serving snacks, breakfast, lunch etc but no music, which was great. The bar next door has music on anyway, usually quite low. The staff are always very busy but friendly and helpful. The location is great, just outside the main part of Malia so quieter. The bus to Heraklion is a 15 minute walk away, and takes about 55 minutes.
The pool isn't very clean, mostly because people walk to and from the beach, bringing sand with them.
The kitchen is fine but really needs a sponge, washing-up liquid and tea towel. Having to buy these for a holiday is a bit annoying.

What we liked was the refreshing pool and the position close to the beach.
What was not that nice was that we ve got an appartment on the second floor and with a small kid +bags, it was complicated and dangerous for the kid to climb the stairs. Lady from cleaning came every day, she was nice, however cleanliness was not her strong point. The balcony could not be used as it was directly on the sun and no shade.

Ontzettend aardige hosts en fijne plek vlakbij het strand, speciaal voor booking gasten gratis bedjes en parasol. Dichtbij restaurants, met heel aardig personeel en heerlijk eten. Totaal geen last van drukke uitgaansgelegenheden, dat ligt echt een stukje verder. Het oude centrum is met 15 minuten lopen ook goed te bereiken.
Er is alleen airco in de slaapkamer, die is niet sterk genoeg om ook de woonkamer (met derde bed) koel te maken. De keuken is karig ingericht, dus lekker elke avond uit eten. Schoonmaak van de kamer aan het begin niet goed gedaan, dus je moet zelf nog even met je doekjes erdoor. De weg om naar de restaurants te komen is niet prettig om te lopen. Er wordt hard gereden en er is geen wandelpad.
