A really stunning location. Rooms are lovely. A few reviews mentioned breakfast we found it fine. It's a typical Thai hotel breakfast. Our aircon broke and we were upgraded. The location is simply stunning. Snorkeling decent. Sadly no baby sharks.
People have mentioned the stairs. They weren't too bad at all. Certainly wouldn't put me off. However the food in the restaurant really needs improvement. It was shocking.. The pizza inedible. Thai dishes were either very spicy (for context I lived in Thailand for 5years and am. Used to spice) or bland or oily. Also the insects. We had several cockroavhes and thousands of ants. Rooms should have a spray supplied to deal with them. I didn't sleep too well as I was worried cockroavhes would crawl on us after finding 2 on the bed.

When we arrived at the hotel, the staff spoke very poor English. The room we booked had a sea view... unfortunately we got a room with a huge tree in front of it so you couldn't see anything of the sea. the room was dirty!! there was hair everywhere, brown spots on the ground (mud) The glasses and coffee cups in the breakfast room are dirty! the pool beds are falling apart a bit depending on how old they are. The towels you shower with are the same towels used at the pool... Really dirty In short, a really bad hotel and I would never come back here.

Man muss also immer Treppen steigen.

beautiful setting over looking the beach and ocean. Great snorkelling from the beach. Relaxing and peaceful. Lovely staff nothing too much trouble for them. It is hilly and where we were a lot of steps.
Nothing all was good

The resort is out of the way and a total escape from the world. The beach is perfect, clean and sun washed all day. You can paddled a few feet out and see reef sharks, all sorts of tropical fish and some people saw turtles. The resort itself built on a little limb of the island it’s like an island all of its own!
The room was beautiful we had A7 a stand-alone single floor suite. It was breathtaking. Peaceful on another level! It was just bliss!
The pool was beautiful too, the perfect evening spot, wish it stayed open a bit later, closes at 7pm. The pool bar team were both fantastic great bar men, fun and great drinks!
Just the most beautiful place! Definitely for the fit and adventurous type it’s not light work getting around an incredibly hilly area! Not for the faint of heart.
Would have loved loungers on our balcony, such a big balcony with tiny little chairs. Also the tea and coffee in room facilities were non existent no coffee machine or any tea. Our TV didn’t tune at all and absolutely no smart TV - fine for us as we had other means of entertainment.
The lighting was a bit patchy at times in the night around the resort I tripped a few times and scraped my knees.
The resort upkeep is minimal, don’t get me wrong you don’t need much more it’s bliss but there are very tired areas! It’s needs a good injection of money and this place would be a 10/10 world class resort! There’s an old now out of use water slide just lying around and broken things just left in guest areas. A but scruffier thank you like to see.
The restaurant was not good, breakfast is bearable but the actual menu was not for us. We love Thai food so ordered from that initially but things weren’t done well or were unbearably spicy, then we tried more western dishes that were very poor!

Nun liest man hier immer wieder vom vielen Treppensteigen.

Stunning views, very comfortable beds and staff were amazing. Shuttle bus provided which is helpful.
You are on a hill and need to either taxi or motorbike to get off the resort. However can get a motorbike from reception.

Beautiful location, surrounded by the best beaches in Koh Tao. Staff is very friendly, view was incredible, possible to rent scooters and snorkeling equipment directly at the resort, free shuttle from and to the ferry and the absolute most comfortable bed i've ever slept on!
Unfortunately breakfast was horrible! Very bland and unappetizing, we only went twice and ended up going out for breakfast for the rest of our stay. The resort has lots and lots of stairs but that's a given, being that it's build on such hilly scenery. The location is also quite far out from the rest of the island but easily reachable by scooter, though the road down is quite steep so be careful.

It is the best place to snorkel
The shuttle bus time and destination (pier/Sairee beach) was limited.
The last bus time(21:30 ) was too early to enjoy dinner / massage at sairee beach side.

Room had a beautiful view, trip was for our honeymoon and we got a upgrade! Snorkeling was amazing! Great pool and pool bar. Staff were fantastic polite, helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay.
The bathroom was a shower and toilet combo no shower screen and the drainage was not great. Sometimes had no hot water.

We love this place! The views, the Infiniti pool looking out over the beach with great cocktails, the access to great snorkeling, the white sand beach, the restaurant, the friendly staff, and the natural beauty of the hotel set among the granite boulders and lush gardens are all wonderful.
We have nothing to say- it was perfect for us. However, there are quite a few stairs to go down to the restaurant which is good to be aware of if you have a disability

Snorkeling was amazing, staff was amazing.
Breakfast was a little bit limited compared to other hotels. Deck chairs are old and resort needs some maintenance but a lovely experience

Unfortunately we came during bad weather but the location of the resort is beautiful. The resort is situated a bay along the island that most tourist boats come for scuba diving, big bonus is that you can hire the equipment from the hotel and just be careful of the sharp rocks and shells unlike myself. The restaurant was fantastic, service & food 10/10.
Where they fall short is maintenance. Our room was leaking water from the roof, infested with ants, all taps/ toilet/ plumbing was leaking, big gap at front door which had elements coming through as all rooms are outdoor and separate, the bed was as hard a brick, AC was loud and there was no outside door mat. We were lucky our room was close to the restaurant because everything is on a hill so heaps of steep steps.

For Koh Tao, Sai Deng is a beautiful and relaxing spot away from the hubbub of Sairee Beach. The rooms are spacious, beautiful, and very comfortable. Also, due to the design of the resort you feel like you have a little slice of the penninsular that Sao Deng sits on all to yourself with neighbouring rooms far enough away to provide some additional privacy and seclusion.
The staff were fantastic, kind, diligent, and all an asset to the resort.
The pool is clean with a lovely swim-up bar, food at the resort is delicious, and the daily transport to and from the Mae Haad pier was great if you wanted to go into town.
Oh, and the on site Spa was fantastic.
To top it off as well as a small private beach, on the opposite side of the penninsular is an amazing reef (accessible via some steps, and some slippery boulders). Yes, it's a bit of a struggle getting into the water (especially of the sea is a bit choppy), but WOW it's worth it. I usually stay at Tanote Bay for its reef... but was so pleased with the reef at Sai Deng and the ability to spot some larger marine creatures.
If you got this far reading my review... bottom line is... visit Sai Deng. I will definitely be returning.
Nothing
However, just to reiterate to be careful of your footing/waves if snorkelling from the non-beach side of the peninsular. Don't hurry, and time your entrance and exit from the water between larger sets of waves.
