Friendliness of the staff were very welcoming.
Food was great, breakfast was a bonus.

The whole atmosphere was lovely and relaxing. The food was excellent, and the accommodation was warm and very comfortable. The fact that the new owners had only been there for 6 weeks, they had done a tremendous job. Highly recommend this place and have every intention of visiting again.

Everything! Friendly and very welcoming host. Excellent food. Quirky premises. The quiet location just off the A34 superb as we were travelling from Portsmouth to Nottingham. Only fairly recently taken over by the current patrons so any reviews you read prior to September 2026 do not relate to the current people. Can't wait to go back.
This isn't a dislike, but if you have difficulty climbing stairs, make sure you request a ground floor room as the building is OLD and the staircase not the easiest.

Location was convenient as we were attending a funeral the following day which was about 25 minutes drive away. All the staff were very pleasant & friendly.
Numerous cobwebs in our room and carpet was very stained. Continental breakfast was very sparse
