The property was beautifully decorated. Stunning property. Room was spacious.
Unfortunately, the large number of flies around the property did have a noticeable impact on our stay. We had specifically booked it to enjoy the pool and spend time outside, but ‘relaxing’ at the pool was very difficult. As a result, we often preferred to spend time away from the property instead or stay inside.

Masseria Caretti Grande has the bones of something truly special — a grand old farmhouse with gardens and grounds that whisper of a more romantic, bygone era…
Breakfast is advertised as homemade jams, ricotta, fresh-baked breads and cakes — the reality is disappointingly pre-packaged, nothing like the description suggests.
The bigger issue is the flies. Step outside your room and you’re swarmed. The pool and gardens — genuinely beautiful — are essentially unusable because you can’t sit anywhere without being mobbed. For a property that trades on its outdoor spaces, this is a serious problem.
The beds were also very uncomfortable, which didn’t help after a long day of sightseeing. Air conditioning in the room was dated too, and struggled to keep up with the heat.
It’s a real shame, because the location and the potential here are gorgeous. With some investment and attention to basics, this could be a wonderful place. As it stands, I can’t recommend it.
