Bella casa che necessita di manutenzione

Bella casa in bella posizione con grande giardino. Ottima dotazione di stoviglie e asciugamani. Grazie per dolci tipici, tè, ananas locale e stendipanni. Purtroppo al nostro arrivo, la sera del 23 dicembre, il riscaldamento non funzionava, la casa era molto umida e fredda. Abbiamo acceso il camino, ma il problema rimaneva nelle camere. Abbiamo chiesto almeno 2 stufe elettriche, ricevendone una soltanto. Il riscaldamento è stato riparato ben 4 giorni dopo, essendo Natale, ma la casa andava scaldata e areata giorni prima prima per togliere umidità e cattivi odori, presenti anche nei vecchi armadi. Purtroppo la casa non era pulita, abbiamo passato la vigilia di Natale a spazzare, uccidere e togliere vermi, ragnatele, ragnatele con vermi sotto i termosifoni al piano di sopra, alla presenza del giardiniere e della signora delle pulizie. I vermi erano tanti e dall'odore nauseabondo provenienti da un punto del soffitto in legno. Vista l'entità del problema, la proprietaria ci ha gentilmente scritto di trovare un'altra casa, con il conseguente rimborso della spesa. Abbiamo passato la giornata di Natale a cercare, ovviamente senza risultato, data anche la lunga permanenza di 2 settimane. Così siamo dovuti rimanere. Purtroppo non è stato possibile dormire al piano di sopra, non solo per i vermi, ma anche per i fortissimi rumori che vengono dal tetto a partire dalle 6 di mattina. Registrato un audio per la proprietaria, secondo lei si tratta di uccelli. Abbiamo cercato di parlare con lei, ricevendo in risposta però solo messaggi. (continua sotto)

(continua) Ci ha scritto che è Natale, che questa è una "fattoria" di campagna e che non ci piace la casa. Ma è Natale anche per noi, sono le nostre vacanze, prenotate a marzo, e sono state rovinate. Siamo nati e cresciuti nella campagna toscana, siamo grandissimi viaggiatori, scegliamo con tanta cura le case più belle e questa rispondeva sulla carta alle nostre esigenze. Purtroppo abbiamo pagato per 3 camere, potendone usare una soltanto, al piano terra, dove ho dormito io con nostra figlia sedicenne. Mio marito ha dovuto dormire nel divano letto in soggiorno. Per questo enorme disagio abbiamo scritto che ci aspettavamo almeno uno sconto, la proprietaria non solo non lo ha proposto, ma non ha risposto al riguardo. Abbiamo comprato tanti profumi armadio per renderne utilizzabile almeno uno, il prodotto per uccidere i vermi e 2 flaconi di deodorante spray, dato di continuo in tutta la casa e nell'armadio. Siamo una famiglia seria che cerca sempre di dare giudizi obiettivi e intratteniamo sempre ottimi rapporti con gli host. Ci dispiace dare voto 3 ad una casa che potrebbe meritare 10, ma al momento non ci sono i requisiti minimi. Strutturalmente la casa è valida, ma necessita di interventi di miglioramento, come i dissuasori per uccelli nel tetto, oltre a nuovi infissi, nuovi armadi e all’eliminazione muffa dai muri. Sappiamo che non si può risolvere il problema in un giorno, ma le problematiche riscontrate non sono da considerarsi accidentali. Fortunatamente ci sappiamo adattare e organizzare per risolvere i problemi e rendere vivibili le case anche quando non lo sono.

Lovely old property in a good location - a few upgrades to inside comfort would be good.

The grounds of this old property are absolutely stunning. Wonderful gardens and a nice terrace for dining. Greenhouses where they grow their own pineapples. Easy parking. Our host was very kind in leaving us the best pineapple I've ever had and some fresh local cheese, biscuits (cookies) and English style muffins - all local Azorean products. It was very nice to have a washing machine and outside lines to dry our clothes. Excellent iron as well. The house was clean. Fresh flower arrangements were put out for us - nice touch. The agent, Maria, was exceptional. She even helped us book a car both in Sao Miguel and on the island of Terceira through local car rental companies - we were very grateful/

Oh dear...this is an old property with lots of old furniture inside and comfort was an issue. The bed frames being old and small is understandable and there were bed options so we could use a 2nd bedroom. The mattresses were not comfortable - you could feel the springs - I think new ones are needed. The pillows were very uncomfortable - a couple of softer ones would have been good. I think if you rent out a "home" with a full kitchen, you should leave a few basics - even just salt, pepper, olive oil and vinegar - enough to make a salad.

Exterior - 10 points but the interior - 2 points.

Beautiful and huge garden and good location with possibility to park your car for free and nice views from the terrace and balcony. The house is spacious. I would rate the exterior with 10 points but the interior with 2 points. 15 min drive by car to the airport.

The house is spacious and nice but the furniture is very old and not comfortable. Especially the beds are old and small for 2 people. In the whole house you can smell insecticide and you can find it in almost every corner or cupboard of the house. It is almost impossible to get rid of this smell also later from your personal belongings. In some rooms, especially in smaller house on the ground floor, the humidity is so high that you can smell it in addition to the smell of insecticide. The dishwasher works, which is a big plus, but all the dishes were not clean properly when we arrived, so we cleaned it ourselves. There are a lot of cockroaches around the house and some also inside, so we understand all the insecticide around. The bathroom in the main house on the ground floor was out of order during our stay. I am really sorry for this rating, but as we travel a lot we can compare it with other similarly priced accommodation. Even this was not the expensive one - the cleanliness you expect everywhere

Very good

Amazing, huge garden with ocean view! The house is beautiful, well equipped and in great location. The host was very nice and helpful, we received many tips and recommendations from Carlos who welcomed us at our arrival. Also, the beds are very comfortable.

We visited Quinta das Bolas December. The only thing that could be improved in the future is that the heating could be turned on before guests arrival. The house is very big and it took it a full day to get warmer inside after we turned on the heating.

Great

We had a great time in this house, it’s beautiful, cosy and equipped with all needed (we even had some presents when we arrived, pineapple and cheese!). The garden is beautiful, with views to the ocean, it’s super nice to have breakfast in the garden surrounded by all those plants. The house is also close enough to all the main points of the island by car and it takes less than 10 minutes to go to Ponta Delgada. To sum up, we liked the house so much that we extended our accommodation one more day! Thank you for everything :)
