There was a small but surprisingly unnecessary issue with the in-room fridge. Normally it’s stocked with assorted canned drinks (cola, 7Up, mineral water, beer). Our fridge had no mineral water, so we requested restocking. Service arrived and brought one can of mineral water, insisting it had to replace another can from the fridge.
The next day, the customer service manager explained this was due to a new policy: each room now gets only one can of drink, even for two adults at an all-inclusive resort. We were also told that many other guests had been raising the same issue at the front desk. If both guests prefer the same drink, the proposed solution was to remove a different drink entirely (e.g., no 7Up) so both could share the same one—essentially putting guests in the awkward position of needing a “preferred soft drink list” in case they’re asked.
What started as a minor request turned into an unnecessary and puzzling waste of vacation time. For an all-inclusive resort, this policy feels oddly restrictive—following the same logic, one might wonder if the next policy will be one towel per room.

The hotel is beautiful, full of wild life and it's always extremely clean (common areas, bedroom, beach ..). The breakfast buffet is also very complete and the beach and swimming areas are great (blue water, white sand. just great).
A couple of things the hotel could get better at:
- my room had an amazing view to the beach, however it was also in front of the next door's resort and their evening plans. We could hear the music from the other hotel in our room (with windows closed). It wasn't a problem for us as we don't mind the noise, but if you're a light sleeper this would have been a real issue.
- at the beach, the sunbeds and really close to each other, so there's not place for a private conversation.

The pool ,beach and grounds are fabulous! Plenty of shade to be found around the pool and on the beach
Buffet food good not spectacular. There were no offerings that were amazing. RIU always has a couple WOW options at the buffet.

The property is pretty. More family oriented. Well suited for families .
Did not like the hours of the buffet, or that we were given wine at dinner and then after the fact were told it was extra. Then they took the bottle from the table and glasses we had unfinished, and We were told they would remove from charge to our room, but when we were checking out WERE CHARGED FOR IT. And we heard the manager of that buffet (quetzal side) say that he remembered us and for them to charge us! (He didn’t know he was on speaker). Very unprofessional
