Everything. What a stunning location! The hostel was immaculately clean and the communal facilities were very well organized. A lovely lounge was provided along with a good range of games. The kitchen facilities were excellent with access to good ovens, fridge space, continuous boiled water (via a Zip), and a good range of pots, pans, cutlery, cups, plates etc. The easy parking was also a bonus along with the washing machine and a very effective drying room.
Nothing. It was a hostel and, as such, we were not expecting five star luxury but Hartfield House was a genuine and delightful experience that placed us in the heart of an absolutely magical community.

We had a huge room with great views to the back and side. The hostel is very peaceful and it's possible to walk a long way from it up the valley without roads and a chance to see deer and highland cattle. The room was very well-equipped, clean and very comfortable. Our room had a sofa and table plus an en-suite bathroom. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We did not use the communal facilities so cannot comment on these properly but they looked to be good.
