If you're looking for a place that feels less like a hotel and more like a home, Poppies is exactly that. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality that made my stay truly memorable. The home-cooked food was absolutely incredible, fresh, authentic, and honestly too good to be true. Every meal felt like it was prepared with love.
The property is spotless, beautifully maintained, and offers a peaceful atmosphere that's hard to find in a busy tourist destination like Mirissa. After spending the day exploring crowded beaches and streets, coming back to Poppies was incredibly calming.
One thing that really stood out was the kindness of the host Mr Ranjith. I had accidentally forgotten my mobile charger, and despite having only one for himself, Mr Ranjith generously lent it to me without hesitation. It's small gestures like these that show how much they genuinely care about their guests.
I would especially recommend Poppies to solo travellers, particularly women, as it felt extremely safe, comfortable, and welcoming throughout my stay. If you're visiting Mirissa and want amazing food, a peaceful environment, and hosts who treat you like family, don't think twice, stay at Poppies. I would happily return again.

Everything was perfect! Highly recommending this place. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The location is brilliant—everything is within easy reach, just a short walk away. We especially loved how the property is hidden in a courtyard, offering total privacy and a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. No complaints at all, a solid 10/10!
