Apartment wasn't clean & needs some serious work

It's a decently-sized apartment right on the main road of Akureyri. However, no traffic could be heard, so it’s very quiet in the apartment (except for the noise coming from the construction site right below). There is also a nice balcony, which we sadly couldn’t use because of the rain during our stay. Self-check-in went smoothly.

When we arrived, we weren't even sure if we were at the right place, because there is construction going on beneath the apartment. So the entrance looked more like a construction site than an actual place to stay. To get to our room we had to pass through the construction site and climb some narrow/steep stairs to the top of the building - there is no elevator, so keep that in mind, when travelling with heavy luggage. The room itself was very run-down as well, with lots of broken or damaged parts (toilet seat easily came off on one side, tap in the bathroom wobbled, wooden bathroom door coming undone, probably because of the wet shower curtain right next to it, and so on). Especially the bathroom could have been a lot cleaner. There was a brown stain in the shower (I don’t even want to know, what that was) and the shower curtains definitely need to be replaced as well! Cutlery didn’t look clean either and in general, the entire apartment should’ve been cleaned more thoroughly (dust & dirt in many places). Overall, the apartment is in desperate need for some renovations and a thorough clean-up.

Brilliant central location and very satisfactory area. Parking is just available in front of the entrance door. Comfort of the room was very good too.

As the location is at the crossroads, an upgrade to sound insulated widows would be great. And the chimney of the downstairs resturant can be further extended up as the smell from their kitchen fills into the apartment.

1. The bed are comfortable to sleep in. 2. The unit is quite spacious.

1. The staircase up to the unit is spiral, be careful when carrying luggages. 2. One of the room heater is not working. 3. The laundry dryer is not working. 4. The unit needs thorough cleaning especially the kitchen. 5. Insufficient cooking utensils eg knife, peeler etc. 6. The pans are very worn and unsafe to use, need to be replaced. 7. One of the bathroom lights is not working. 8. No wall hooks in the bathroom.

Location ! Also stuff response was great . Free Netflix

Renovated but poorly . Shower water was not draining . Toilet broke . Smell inside was bad . Restaurant under so smell of food all the time . No hand paper in the kitchen
