Best place to stay before visiting Tikal. Owner\staff ridiculously great.

There were too many great things to say about this location. The owner, Chena, was extremely nice and helpful during our entire stay. The property is right next to a river (with falls and a great swimming hole) and is a preserve of an old cattle ranch still in Chena's family. The bungalows were very comfortable and clean, with many decorative touches and amenities having been made by Chena herself. The restaurant on the property is full service and tasty as well. Our stay here centered around a trip to the Tikal ruins in Guatemala - we stayed the first night at Clarissa falls resort, leaving our rental car there as well while we were away, with Chena arranging all the travel to and from Tikal using drivers she has had long and excellent service from. We stayed the final night at Clarissa falls upon return from Tikal so we could get an early start back to the coast for some snorkel time. An added bonus for this resort is that it is very close to the Xunantunich ruins for a quick visit there. Lastly I wanted to say how much we appreciated Chena's over-and-beyond assistance with our challenges that started the day before when we discovered our credit card had been hacked and disabled.

It's so magical and peaceful at this place, we will be back.

The food was made to order and very good. Staff very friendly and attentive. The coffee, Garlic Tea and Ginger tea very good. Chena, the owner, sorry if I misspelled her name is so personable, she baked a chocolate cake for my birthday and made it Vegan so one of my daughters could eat it. It was yummy!

A longer stay would have been better. So much Flora and Fauna to see. The water fall and river is so tranquil.

Relax and rejuvenate.

Chena was so lovely to talk with and the food she makes is delicious! The gardens and animals are very peaceful. It really has a retreat feel. She also helped us easily book a tour to atm and navigate our way around the area.

Exceptional

We had the best time at Clarissa Falls. The property is so peaceful and beautiful. The river runs directly behind the cabins. The cabin was simple but cozy. The owner Chena is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. She treated us like family. She helped us plan our activities and we had fun with all of her recommended tours. The food was delicious- we ate all of our breakfasts there and most of our dinners. We didn’t want to leave and we would definitely stay there again.

Absolutely paradise, a warm and welcoming place for the holidays.

Clarissa Fall is a beautiful peaceful retreat. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Chena treated us like family, making sure all our needs and some were met.

A wonderful peaceful place where we could relax and feel at home

Chena the owner was so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for her. If you want to be in beautiful jungle surroundings and enjoy the rustic nature of the cabins and restaurant, the peace and quiet only hearing the sounds of the birds and the river that runs by, then this is the dream place to be. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed the freshly prepared food so much we ended up making it full board. We did not want to leave.

worlds best hostess

the staff is the best. they care about you, are wonderful cooks and strive to make everything perfect. the dogs were even in on the game. the location is so beautiful!

Lovely jungle rustic lodge. Nice thatched roof cabins. Good size and bathrooms fine. Comfortable beds. Good food and great service. Really get to know staff and relax. Go for a hike with chenna.

No functional internet.

Very nice location on the Riverater

Very primitive cement Bungalow with out working showers. No hot water. Dirty floors. The owner was very accommodating. Food was very poor and since your where stack there not a place to stay for any length of time
