Loved the atmosphere, the staff and the location

Lovely, super helpful staff who had read the booking form and advised which areas were pet free. Another staff member went out of his way to get us a table to eat. Lovely food. Selection of real ales on hand pumps. Free parking outside. Walkable to railway station. Frequent bus service to Dundee. Near the sea and the shops.
Good breakfast, especially the haggis.
Spacious room with ironing board and plenty of hanging space. USB socket within reach of the bed. Huge bed. Nice decor.
Wallpaper television. The TVs in the public areas were always on but with no sound and no-one watching them. I was the first person in the breakfast room and the TV was already on with no sound. Piped music too. Why both?
Noisy person in next door room. I am very deaf but could hear the TV in the next door room and it was on till after 1am. Perhaps the person next door was hard of hearing too? I don't like sound limiters on hotel TVs because I struggle to hear even at full volume, but if I'm watching TV I use the sub-titles late at night. I wish the neighbour had done the same.
The mattress was quite hard but that is personal taste.

We had a lovely room overlooking the beer garden. We had dinner and breakfast, bith were delicious. Hotel is in a great location for everything.
A wee bit of noise ftom extractor.

Clean good location & lovely breakfast
The bed was too firm
Droning noise coming from bathroom
which went on most of the night
This is not the hotels fault but I was in room 3 & was disturbed by people in the room above who were constantly walking about & banging drawers from 7 30am till they eventually left at 9am!
My advice get a room with no one above you!!
