A bit pricey

Hotel Mercedes is a very basic hotel but perfectly lovely for all that. The buffet breakfast is plentiful. The rooms are spacious. Nearby are several extremely lovely restaurants with delicious food (La Jibia, El Tavernetta, Casa Lucita, and Las Portillionas were all fantastic to eat at) and the public transport into Santander is frequent and reliable. We were staying as a group of eight, and they were very good about facilitating us.
Two things could have been better. The breakfast could have used more fresh food (fruit, better quality yoghurt, more than one kind of cheese) and the temperature in August in a historic heatwave was very hot for rooms without air conditioning.

Simple facilities but as described and even a little better than I expected. Breakfast had a good range of choice in a very pleasant breakfast room . Location and parking was excellent and there were several good restaurants in the vicinity. Room was nicely decorated and staff were very welcoming and helpful. Good value for money

The parking is very good
Given its rating and price I expected more. However what you get is something like a Holiday Inn Express.
Also, no kettle and fridge in the room. No shops or restaurants close by. Poor breakfast with items not replaced and tepid coffee from a small jug
