About this house rental
Nestled in Durango, this attractive house for $399 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Location location location!!! Our 3 bedroom 2 bath Mountain Lodge style townhouse is located on the Animas River. The heart of downtown is a 5 minute walk. Access to the river trail is next to the property. There are also extensive gardens on the property. Our 2300 sq ft home was built in 2008 using green energy efficient materials. The unit is upstairs and includes an elevator for access at the front door, a garage space with an EV charging station, stairs up to the back of the unit, and on street parking. There are code locks on the doors, so no keys are needed. There is a mudroom at both the front and back entrances for ski and snow board storage in the winter. The living area is a modern open concept with a large island in the kitchen. The gourmet kitchen has stainless appliances, an efficient induction cooktop, lots of counter space, and is equipped with everything you need. There is a Nespresso coffee machine with provided pods as well as a regular coffee machine. The dining room seats up to eight people. The living room includes a gas fireplace and large screen TV. It has a perfect open entertaining area, including double sliding doors which open up to the back deck with seating and a gas grill. This porch overlooks the Animas River. There are hardwood bamboo floors throughout the house with in floor heating. The house has air conditioning as well as lots of screened windows to let in the cool mountain air and light. The home can sleep up to 6 people. There are 2 bedrooms on the main level with queen sized beds and a full bath. Both of theses bedrooms have small tv’s. The upper level has 6 steps. There is a full sized washer and dryer. The primary has a king sized bed and a luxurious bathroom with double vessel sinks. There is a large screen TV in this bedroom and a large walk in closet. Double doors lead out to the front deck area. This deck overlooks the neighborhood and Perrin’s Peak. We have Wi-fi and smart large screen TV's with cable access and Roku. We have a clip on baby highchair, portable adjustable crib, stroller and baby monitor.. Our unit is cleaned with antibacterial products. It is a non smoking unit. Unfortunately we cannot allow pets.

This home is all it is described to be and more. It is spacious, with a beautiful outside deck overlooking the river. The kitchen is fantastic and the bedrooms very comfortable, The hosts clearly put a lot of effort into making it a great home for visitors. The location is also great, sitting right above the Durango bike path. We had a wonderful visit.

This was perhaps the most well equipped VRBO I have stayed in. There are 5 ways one can make coffee at Teresa’s VRBO, multiple other kitchen conveniences, and other things one typically only finds at home. Layout is optimal as well. Perfect.

Our visit served as introduction to Durango for my brother, sister-in-law & niece. This welcoming property, on the Animas River, sets the mood perfectly. The east facing, covered deck beckons guests outdoors to soak in the view & the town’s vibe. The location, adjacent to the bridge for quick access to the river walk with all its offerings, is ideal.
Inside, this unit provides all the comforts & conveniences of home with a Durango flair. It is, hands down, the best provisioned property I have ever rented. You’ll want for nothing in terms of linens, bathroom toiletries, kitchen appliances & utensils. A stay at the Animas River Basecamp is livin’ the Durango dream.

Location and property couldn’t be better for a stay in Durango. Right along the river for fishing, and path for walking and biking, walking distance to town, which is an awesome town to explore.
Basecamp has super outdoor spaces for gathering with friends, is clean, stocked and well equipped for cooking and relaxing with friends. A great vrbo.

We had a wonderful stay. The location was perfect, close to the train, shopping, dining and golf! Sitting on the back deck was relaxing with the river flowing behind it. Our hosts were gracious and the home was very clean, comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. Thank you!

We had a great experience staying at Animas River Basecamp. It’s one of the nicest vacation homes that we’ve rented. Everything in the house is high quality and attractive. For two couples, it was very spacious, clean and furnished with everything you would need.
We especially enjoyed the “coffee station” in the morning and cooking meals in the evening. We also loved that one of the porches looked out over the Animas River!
The apartment is close to downtown Durango, about a 10 minute easy walk. It was nice to park the car for most of our stay. Hosts Teresa and Doug are friendly and helpful, and communication with them was excellent. Checking in and out was simple.
Durango is a wonderful place to visit with hiking, biking, good restaurants and historic places at your fingertips. Thank you Teresa and Doug for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Lovely home. Will be back for sure. Garage fit our Jeep wrangler with roof box on top. Comfy, clean, well equipped house. Nice furnishings & art, lighting, and extras; books, games, plenty of towels, blankets and bedding. Comfy beds. Nice patios. Loved sitting out back over the yard and river and watching the deer who visited. Great coffee and tea supplies. Good washing facilities and kitchen supplies. Super easy communication with owner. Lovely sitting area and dining table. Robes in master plus storage space. Less than 1mile walk to main st and shops/dining. Great spot for drive to Purgatory ski as you avoid most of town.

The property was in great shape. Had everything needed for our week stay. Located in a great spot in which you can walk across the bridge into town to everything. Easy access up to Purgatory resort and Nordic center. Property had a great Colorado feel. Definitely stay again.

This property is perfect for 6 people. There is plenty of room in the living area, the dining table fits 6 with room to spare, a really nice kitchen, a deck with comfortable furniture and a bbq. It all got used. An easy walk to supermarket and downtown.

Visiting Durango for a family wedding. This was a wonderful rental for two adult couples. Very spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed.
Located in a quiet residential neighborhood on the Animas River and an easy short walk to town. Beautiful yard and gardens. Our favorite feature was the deck overlooking the river, a perfect spot for morning coffee and evening cocktails. Owner was very responsive and greeted us upon arrival. Highly recommended!

More spacious even than pics, had everything we could possibly need. Decor so fun and made us feel a world away from home. Walkable but tucked just far enough away from heart of town to be nice and quiet at night. Sits right on Animas river - beautiful! Owner very responsive, though we didn’t need a thing. The host, Teresa, was accommodating, welcoming and very responsive. We enjoyed the house so much! It is decorated like someone’s own home and she takes care of you like family. We enjoyed all the decor, patios, views and the location to downtown, river access and lakes. It is a quiet neighborhood and quiet house. Parking was easy and the elevator made carrying our stuff in and out a breeze. I hope to stay here again soon! It was wonderful!!

The patio off the master bedroom is very nice but the patio overlooking the river was our favorite. It was the perfect place for enjoying our coffee in the morning and an evening cocktail. The kitchen is very well equipped with just about anything you need including updated appliances!
Communication with Teresa was awesome. She sent very detailed instructions for parking and how to enter the house, that were a little intimidating to read but once we arrived it all made sense! She also has a very detailed book in the house with recommendations on things to do, where to eat, as well as other helpful tidbits. We were all very happy with our stay here and would not hesitate to stay here again!!

This property is conveniently located on the Animus river, just a 5-10 minute walk into town. We walked to coffee shops, grocery stores, restaurants and great shopping every day. We loved looking at the river from the deck, and watching the rafts float by from the footbridge. It was very easy to get to mountain bike /hiking trails, and other activities in Durango. The townhouse is spacious and well set-up, and the hosts thought of every amenity. Plenty of towels, dishes/cookware, a gas grill on the deck, lots of deck furniture, games/puzzles, TVs in all the rooms, a garage + easy street parking, A/C. We had everything we needed! The owners live next door and are very lovely. There is a unit downstairs as well.
