Super sketchy and did not leave this solo female traveler feeling safe.

The breakfast was terrible. They had VERY few options. There were no hot items. There wasn't even a toaster for the bread.

The room was really tiny. I was given a remote for the TV at check in. I'm not quite sure who they think would steal a TV remote! I had to turn in my room key every time I left the hotel. I was traveling alone, and so they gave me ONE towel. The door to my room was locked with an old fashioned key that did NOT leave me feeling very secure.

Good stay in central Porto (deluxe room)

It was an option which I have booked just a couple of hours before to stay one night, so basically I did not have any big expectations. Still the location is great, breakfast was fine. It was a bigger room with a balcony which is much better than a standard room. Price seems to be a bit high, but there were few options available. In general, we liked everything.

Disappointing

The location was good, close to the station and the nightlife up the hill. The staff was charming.

Poor value for money. The hotel is run down and should not cost more than 80 euros, I paid 150, which is way overpriced. The doors were poor so you could hear everything from the hall. The worst part was the adjacent restaurant, which looked nice but served the worst food I have ever had at very high prices. They wouldn't even serve this food in a prison. Breakfast was also lousy, it made me depressed to eat there.

Great stay in Porto

Excellent reception staff, great price, very clean and great location.

It's a period property so a bit tired in some respects overall, but that's absolutely fine. Bit of a dull bedroom which could do with an element of colour - but minor matter. Excellent overall.

I had a most enjoyable stay in Hotel Aliados.

The location was excellent. Very central. The staff were exceptionally friendly, cheerful and helpful. I couldn’t rate them highly enough. The area felt safe.

I couldn’t find any fault with the hotel.

Really friendly and welcoming staff. Safe location and nice, old building with a bit of character.

The hotel is in a great location and very close to the Metro. It felt safe walking about the area late at night. The room was clean as was the bathroom. I found the reception staff incredibly friendly and welcoming.

I had breakfast included and although it was continental, it was a little bit basic, so possibly better to have this outside.

Hotel Aliados was in a good location for me and I loved the staff.

The reception staff were outstanding. Catherine and Isabel were the friendliest staff that I met in my two weeks in Portugal. Isabel even loaned me her personal umbrella when I went out on yet another rainy day. They worked effectively to get the heat regulated in my room and scheduled a taxi for me to take me to the train station. I loved talking with them every day.

I liked the historical building. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s always nice to be greeted and made to feel welcome when travelling.

Great historic hotel in a perfect location.

The building is historic and very cool. The location is perfect and an easy walk to all the places you want to go and see. Plenty of food nearby. Walking to the train station is easy. The Douro river is a little further of a walk but incredible things to see during the entire walk so it's a great walk.

The much of central old town area is torn up for the construction of a subway line in October 2022. The room was smaller than the pictures make it look but this is to be expected anymore.

Nothing to say my stay was excellent

Breakfast is not much but a enough to start your day and the receptionist name Caterina was excellent help with everything.

Happy with a stay

cleanliness is very good, welcoming, smiling and friendly staff, easy location

unfortunately, no umbrellas for a rent, breakfast can be improved, as most of the guests are European- highly recommend adding eggs and toasts.
