Stay was good other than the bad experiences with Front desk and Concierge staffs

The location is good with direct access to the tram and bus services, and a short walk to the Causeway bay MTR station. There are a lot of good restaurants and shopping malls within walking distant. The hotel, though old, is well kept, clean and comfortable. The Chinese restaurant on the third level offers traditional Cantonese dishes and Dim Sum at reasonable prices.

The service quality of the hotel is terrible! I have issues on two occasions with staffs with bad attitudes. 1) I tried to get a taxi in the morning and the concierge just asked me to wait at the taxi stand. When asked if he call a taxi for me, he replied it is difficult to get a taxi in the morning and I have to wait (terrible attitude) 2) On the day of my departure, I tried to ask for a late check out at 11.00am because of an appointment at noon. The Reception staff asked for my room number before saying that the hotel is full and I have to vacate the room by noon. When I went back to the room to pick up my luggage, I found that my key-card no longer has access to the room and have to go back to the reception (and queue again) to report the key-card malfunction. The staff wants to verify my personal data in great detail (even though I was there just 15 minutes ago) asking for confidential personal information in front of other guests within hearshot. I have wasted about 40 minutes in total just to ask for a late checkout that was declined. I had to check out, leave my luggage at the concierge before going for my appointment which in the end resulted in my being late for my appointment by 1 hour.

Dissatisfied overall

Great location. Breakfast had a good selection. Roon was conformable

Staff and services not as helpful as my stay 3 years ago. Rooms are getting dated. Club lounge not open for first 4 days of my visit.

Satisfactory. But a little jaded and very busy. Poor staff.

Decent location. Not too far from Causeway Bay MTR and just beyond the busiest shopping streets. Plenty of small local restaurants in the little streets behind.

A very busy hotel with a small lobby area and luggage everywhere. Check-in was ridiculously slow. Only one person available at prime time. 25 mins wait and then no room available until later. Room was ok. Decent size but quite old and tired looking. Satisfactory. But definitely nothing special. And service is very poor on reception and concierge. I guess it works if you just want a central location and a reasonable place to sleep.

Location is excellent, close to lots of restaurants, shopping and transportation

There are 2 elevators that allow outside visitors to come up to the floors without using the room key to activate the elevator. Hence, security for residents are weak.

Old, smelly and worn-out

It was the worst experience of my life. I hated it. I felt that I got tricked. I noticed afterwards that they had stopped people from doing google reviews for quite some time now. The photos online are not genuine. I booked and paid for 5 nights and only stayed 1 night, my little daughter was crying when she was asked to shower as she was so scared of the old and yucky shower. When I left, the staff did not ask me why and did not offer me any refunds. I want my money back.

The room is very old, as soon as we got out of the lift to our level. The bad smell of the carpet was instant. The room was terrible, very bad condition, old and worn-out. The shower was disgusting.

Location was great

Below par staff service. We asked for a knife 3x via call thru housekeeping but it was not provided until we informed reception on the ground floor. Reception staff kept nodding but actually did not understand basic English.

Nothing! It’s the worst hotel with worst manager. Booking.com is the worst as well for giving this hotel a high rate

The Regal hotel is same as 20 years ago , no improvements , old fashioned , dingy , doesn’t correspond with 5 stars category ..

Basically good stay although hotel gets outdated.

Room was spacious, well equipped and good bathroom. Location of the hotel is perfect and very friendly and supporting staff. Concierce even called me before departure to check if I needed help for the suitcases.

Carpet of the room was greacy and stains. You could see and even more, feel it with bare feet. Also the curtains had had their best time. Connecting my laptop to the tele did not work either. Breakfast could for western people be with more choices, like good yogurt and serials, some more bread options.

Wasn't really worth the money i paid for the stay for a 5* hotel.

Location was ok to access the tram or the MTR.

The room wasn't immaculate. Facilities with low maintenance. There wallpaper had some black spots and the mirrors we could see that it was only clean to a certain height. AC intake was full of dust, not clean in a long time. The drain in the shower wasn't able to drain correctly.

If you have not stayed here at least once, you need to do it now.

I have written a review on this hotel before, I continue to be amazed by this icon. I am so terrified that it will be torn down/upgraded/replaced due to its amazing location in the centre of CWB.

This hotel is a blast from the past. There is gold decor from the 80s, that is why I like it.....it's an amazing Raphaelite trip. Marble, mirrors, details.
