We were drawn to stay here because of the Sound of Music, and it was totally worth it! I cannot emphasize how gorgeous the views are! The property is a delightful retreat! The water and Mountain Views are restorative as you sit and enjoy a bite to eat or drink in peace. There’s even a fire pit by evening; I just wanted to stay out and enjoy being there.
Breakfast on the balcony was incredible and the staff service phenomenal! We did try out the mini golf next door (it was hard!) and I wish I had more time to visit the pool/waterpark but nice included vouchers with our stay.
I loved the treasures of memorabilia around the property and visiting the palace rooms and library. Again with more time would have just enjoyed sitting and reading a book with a view.
A wedding happened the day we arrived and what a delight it would be to return like the couple plans to and make this place a recurring visit ! Salzburg and this hotel will definitely make you want to stay!
We stayed in the annex and the room is basic so certainly there are cheaper options for a stay but you can’t beat the experience! Just wish I could have stayed longer!!
Also would be great to have a full scale restaurant option for longer stays. The cafe menu was limited. But we walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner.

The property is absolutely memorable, breathtaking, and a must see. The staff is very kind, especially Leah who greeted us upon arrival and even left my daughter with a souvenir. The breakfast was so delicious, and the staff was so generous to give us boxes because we had an excursion to get to very early morning. Overall, pretty decent.
I was very disappointed with the room, unfortunately. When you spend this much on a room, you really expect more. The bed and pillows were soooo uncomfortable, there were coffee pods but no coffee machine, and the shower was super slippery. I think this property deserves an upgrade on rooms and decor, even on the rooms that are not in the palace.
