Fabulous hotel, perfect location, great staff

The air-conditioning took a little while to work, and wasn't the best

Breakfast was terrible, I had to ask twice for the food to be replenished.

The hotel was run down and really a mess. Staff were a shamples and the facilities poor.

the location was great - top of the town away from the bustling centre and loud music.

there was a beep noise every 50secs from the Honeywell wall panel at the end of the corridor- I joke you not 3 nights with extremely fractured sleep I can assure I was not impressed by the staff asking me to ou 21 euros in city tax! anyone with a ounce of common sense would have waived this fee. the rooms were in ok condition but they were in dire need of a update! example I got out of bed and a piece of the wooden floor slats was stuck to my foot! (no treasure to be found underneath) the bed head had the most unattractive stain upon it- curious as to why any establishment would allow such a thing- it’s not a sales point at all! we were booked on an excursion with an early start - the 3 ladies at reception scribbled it on a paper - we were very surprised to find nothing ready at 7am as previously confirmed. fresh bread came out at 7.25 - too late for us. (husband was very peeved!) in both bathrooms there were no bathroom mats to get out of the bath onto. no shower curtain to stop the water going everywhere. the swimming pool was very dirty and as per my husband and kids was full of hair and debris. they spent 5 mins in and hit the showers pronto!

The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast abundant and tasty. Amazing localization just next to the beautiful park. We would give 10/10 if it wasn't for the problem with parking and the incompetence of the staff at the reception desk.

The woman at the reception desk gave us clear directions to the hotel free parking lot, where we parked (there was also a sign with the name of the hotel 20 metres before the parking so we had no doubt). The next day the parking was closed with the chain and we had a piece of paper by the window with the information that we parked at the parking lot belonging to the other hotel and we needed to pay them 10 euro/night. When I asked for help at the reception of our hotel, the lady (other than the one from the day before) was very rude, insisted that the mistake was only our fault and not her problem and denied helping us when we asked if she could herself reach the staff from the other hotel. We had to pay 10 euro to the other hotel - the woman at their reception was really polite and sorry for the whole situation, she told us that they have this problem constantly - due to the unclear information from the staff from our hotel and poor indications to the right parking lot a lot of guests from our hotel park falsely at their parking, taking the parking spaces belonging to their guests. We were really disappointed by the whole situation and lack of help from the staff at our hotel.

The location is great

We booked a regular room and a suite. When we arrived, they gave us 2 regular rooms, because suites were occupied. The rooms are moldy. The AC barely works and stinks. And, there are spider webs in the hotel. Elevators are way too slow. The breakfast was bad, especially the coffee.

The property is well located in central part of the town close to the restaurants. Coffee in the morning is delicious.

Room - while the room is decorated in old style, it does not mean that no refresh or upgrade needs to be done to it. There was a smell of dust and heavy air in the corridor (mostly due to old carpet that needs lots of serious cleaning). We upgraded the room to a carpetless one, but that was at a very significant additional cost. Breakfast - do not arrive later then 9:30, there will be nothing left. While coffee was very good, other items could have been tastier. Communication with the hotel -the hotel staff seemed nice but the information that was received around our questions was not complete, in the end we were charged far more then expected without considering booking genius discounts :( In overall I would recommend to look for another hotel in the area that could be more value for money and more cleaned up.
