The staff went out of their way to be helpful, far exceeding some of the American and European hotels that we have stayed in.
Due to the circumstances of this visit to Wales being a hospital visiting trip we decided due to the lateness of leaving the hospital to eat in the hotel, we were booked for breakfast so we added the evening meal as well, it was a very good choice even though they are still getting the hotel into shape after refurbishment and the menu is slightly limited, but still some very good down to earth dishes.
All the food was piping hot and a good sized portion, it was convenient for us as I could also imbibe in a couple of beers, of which they had a very good choice, we are looking forward to returning to sample the full menu.
The rooms are immaculately cleaned and the staff really do take pride in their work, the showers are very powerful and there is other items that are useful like an iron and ironing board, hairdryer etc. The breakfast buffet is well stocked and some very good choices of both cooked and cold foods.
We were served in a friendly manner and all the staff were keen and obliging, I really recommend them for their attitude
to customer service.
One thing that is a bonus is the amount of parking spaces available. Also very handy for St Fagans and castell coch, and at least if you want to go into Cardiff you don't have the lack of taxi problems you will incur in the vays areas. (Experience)!

Air con was not working properly & it was very difficult to get ready as it was so close in the room. I ended up having to get ready in my daughter’s room. We reported it. I’m not sure if it got repaired as we got back very late & it had naturally cooled down. No fridge in the room, no complimentary water and no biscuits. Breakfast was ok but not very warm at all. The bed was very comfortable & there’s a nice lounge area and staff were helpful. Pity as the upgrade of the hotel had not been completed this meant the spa facilities were not open. However, we were advised of this a few weeks prior to arrival.
Breakfast was barely warm & the air con didn’t work!
